there will be a fair trade done simple as that both port and wce will want this sorted quickly so they can move on to other things

I can see a third club getting involved in this... Ebert not worth pick 6, but worth more than pick 28. No players on PA's list that we need (that Port will trade), so seems a bit of a stale mate at the minute.

Pick 33 should get it done, probably worth a little more but WC should take it rather than the risk of the PSD. I hope we don't use our Priority Pick:o

Thats the thing.

I like Surjan, but he doesn't fill a positional requirement with Hurn, Waters, Butler and Smith all vying for spots.

I hope not for our sake, pick 33 is well under his value, originally pick 13, 21 years old and played 22 out of 25 matches for a top 4 side (76 matches in total), captained SA and made AA in u18s. Only taylor and rioli (i think) have played more matches than this kid from the 2007 draft...

And you think he is worth pick 33?

Only 30% of picks between 25 - 50 go on to have any AFL career, let alone what Ebert has shown. Not saying he is worth anywhere near a top 10, but somewhere around 15-25 would be about right.

I'd say pick 28 would be pretty reasonable, possibly with an upgrade of 3rd round picks thrown in. Ebert wants to leave so you may get less than what you'd like.

I said he's probably worth a little more;)
Just because he's played 76 matches doesn't really show his real value, for this you might want to look at the last 2 eagles games where he was dropped. Whatever the case there will be 100's of guesses during the next week as to his value and i just hope a fair trade (pick 33:)) will be the outcome!!

Quite possibly.

WC rate him highly and Port obviously rate him otherwise they would not have chased him so hard this year.

I think they will offer this or slightly better.

But this won't make delusional Port fans who want Ebert and Griffen free in the PSD happy.

Lets not mention the WC fans who want to trade Ebert + Dalzeil for pick 6:p

I think will become a pretty good player. Showed heaps in his first year and many WC fans were saying he will one day be a star and leader of the club. Things have changed, i think he will benefit by going to a club like Port where he would just about be a starting on baller who rest half forward and takes overhead marks and kicks goals.

Cannot see any chance of him going to PSD and totalling screwing over the Eagles but they could potentially state pick 33 or nothing but I believe pick 28 will eventually get the job done.

And turns it over passing to a team mate 50% of the time.

Ebert + 45ish for 28 + 33?

No.

Pick 33 is good for a Player that is said to burn the ball and cannot play finals for you.

And if not, there is the psd to think about.

He wants to leave and come to port. The crows have a psd pick after us unless they upgrade with gc and that won't happen. So WC's hands are slightly tied.

Hard to know but what I can go by is when Port allowed players like Harley and Guerra to move to clubs so they could get more opportunities we got high 30's for them. In my opinion 33 is about right. However I can see him being traded for 28.
I think asking for more maybe a foolish move seeing we have our finger on the trigger of PSD Pick 2.
