Lyon has said Griffin is a required player, so unless he wants out of the club (not unreasonable, considering Clarke and Sandilands have been played ahead of him in the ruck), I can't see that deal happening.

His manager has also stated that they are looking at his options.

Lyon to Fremantle, Sumich to Fremantle. Griffin to Port wouldnt exactly be on par with these examples of craziness at our club or in the West recently.

I wouldnt cancel anything out in trade week.

Ebert + 45 for
Newton + 28/33?

We're not giving up Newton. Period.

And if I was Port, I wouldn't be giving up 28 either. When the shoe is on the other foot, we'll have just played in a prelim final and you'll be down the bottom of the ladder, so we won't care. But then I'm an arseh*le. :D

I'd offer 33 + some mediocre player, then relent with 28 for Ebert + 45 (which most admit you aren't going to use anyway). We need all the help we can get, which is why the PSD is designed the way it is.

In saying that, I think 28 for Ebert would be acceptable.

His manager can't do much since Fremantle holds all the cards to keep him considering he's contracted.

Sorry, where's that from?

Also, it's seems almost certain we'll be getting more than pick 28, which is basic justice.

Clubs can value Ebert as high as they like - it's what Port values him at that you have to deal with.

Lol who are decent half backs at Port? Seriously a quality piss take by you gopower. Jasper is a soft, unaccountable dud..who else have you got back there? Hartlett quite possibly but he was drafted as a midfielder and god knows you need as much class as possible in that centre square. Playing with Lobbe would make any mid wanna consider suicide

Apparantly Port have spent more time talking with GWS then Neil Daniher so far. Fair to say that perhaps GWS will be the third party to push the deal over the line. Perhaps Cornes/Brogan will be involved. Maybe we get pick 25 instead or something

Yep I dont doubt that.

However Port have definitely had chats with him and if we do lure Clarke then Griffin might be released.

No point holding Sandilands, Clark, Clarke and Griffin. When you also have Keplar who can be used in ruck.

Id personally love to keep Griffin but he is simply back up for Sandilands and would hate to see him play WAFL all year then leave anyway as I believe he can play AFL and be more then decent.

Port's first offer was pick 28, so clearly they value him more than that.

According to the least reliable sports news site on the web.

I'm gonna go ahead and believe what Peter Rhode has said himself over the site that said Neil Craig is set to go to Carlton after Steven Icke has been sacked.

Can almost Guarentee If Ebert goes PSD GWS will pick him up to piss Port off for the way they have handled the Brogan/Chad deal.

I very much doubt that.

No club wants a player on their list that does not want to be there. The player just never performs.

You would think that would be the case considering they seemed to be targed players of a similar age in Ward and Scully.
