you can safely say 28 will be offered id think

The Judd trade was pretty fair I thought.

If we get pick 28 I think that's fair. Be pretty dissapointed with less.

I agree I thought it was a trade that benefited both clubs.

Pick 28 should just about get it done you would have thought.

In a way yes, Nisbett said he would only go to Carlton in exchange for pick 1 plus players. How did that go?

As well as you guys when you tried to get top dollar for Jacobs last year :p

pick 28 in this draft gives us about a 10% chance of drafting a player as good as ebert. If that.

I'm not saying he's worth 28, just fair considering the circumstances of him choosing Port etc.

I'd probably choose Ebert over a draft pick up until around pick 20 as a guess.

I'm holding out for 28 + an upgrade of another useable pick.

Is that just based on games played? Not really a great measure. Toby Thurstans played 100 games. I would have happily traded him for pick 28 at any point in his career.

I reckon you'll more than likely accept pick 28. If not there will be a swap around of later picks in your favour. The deal will be done amicably.

Over rating Ebert a bit I reckon.

Yes he played a lot of games since he was drafted but apart from this year the Eagles have struggled since he has been at the club.

That was my exact point, Port has all the bargaining power in this trade.

Everything except the PSD option, GWS and GC both wouldn't pass up the chance to draft a 21 year old with 50+ games under his belt already given the inexperienced youth they have.

Not sure GWS or GC would want to pick up a player that does not want to be at their club. Plus I don't think GWS are involved in this years PSD.

ebert will end up being a lot like a cross between cameron ling and brad sewell. If this was the 08 or 2010 draft then i'd be reasonably happy with a pick around 20-25 for him. This year the depth of quality prospects just isn't there. This year i think our current pick 23 is worth stuff all let alone pick 28 or 33.

i thought gws didn't have psd pick i might be wrong but I'm sure i read they haven't

Are actual stats or you're opinion? I can see a few West Australians falling to this pick who should match Ebo.

id play hardball and pick him up at no.2 psd. gc wont pick him up because he will want to leave next year. why not screw another team over its happend to us in the past.

ahh ok i didn't know that thanks

Because next time you need to deal with us we will return the favour and it might cost you much more than pick 28. We have a history of being good to deal with and clubs have a long memory when it comes to such dealings.

It won't go to PSD, Ebert like Judd owes and respects the club and he will want a fair and equitable deal to be done.

will get done on day 1...... Pick 28..!
Port wont disrespect ebert or wc by pushing him into the psd, or risk the cows having a crack at him on day 5.

as long as the eagles accept that 28 is a fair trade, shouldn't be any problems.

Agreed : too many fans call for clubs to **** each other over and then cry river when the boots on the other foot.

We should look to pay his worth give or take a bit - west coast will negotiate in good faith given brads desire not to psd.

Im not saying port should go easy but should be firm but fair. Especially given how some have moaned over brogan/cornes

Think I said this on another thread, it's all about benchmarking and I guess the first trade sets the benchmark. For instance if the first trade is Gunston for Pick 24 then I think Ebert for 28 is probably too much and it should be 33.
However I think it will be Pick 28 that gets the deal done.
With that in mind that makes Griffin worth something in the 40's and Maric in the 50's or 60's.

I think this scenario values draft picks too highly.
