If I was Ebert id retire from football altogether. A trade will be done or Ebert will back down and sign a 1 year deal with the Eagles. The threat of the PSD is laughable because GWS simply wont let it happen.

Nope. Newton was pick 35 in a strong draft, and probably would've been higher if not for injury concerns. He hasn't gotten on the park to show anything to change his value either way, and definitely not to pick 45 in a weak draft.

Obviously Newton is worth more than pick 45, that is the point, to make the offer of pick 28/33 better! I thought that would be obvious!

Yer, he's so not best 22 here he played almost every game despite our total lack of injuries. Don't let the fact he finished out of the mix at the end of the year fool you, he hadn't accepted a new contract, so the club would have known he wanted out.

I think it's closer to a 3-4% chance of happening (so pretty much you're spot on).

With Rohde talking up the PSD option I wouldn't expect their offer to improve much picks wise.
Port need to hang on to their picks, so there is 0 chance of them giving 28+33 for Ebert, even with the Eagles sending their 2nd round ports way.

If you need it improved your best bet is going to be looking at a player not more picks.

You may get them to offer pick 28 instead of 33, but really Port do have the upper hand in negotiations, as Adelaide aren't interested which will make it hard for you to get what you think he is worth.
