Rumour Brad Fisher delisted ???

I reckon it would've been a toss up between Fish and Clokey and it might be Fish missed out.Good call IMO especially after witnessing his shocking performance in the Bullants grand final.
Not just the GF but the AFL and VFL season
Cloke tried his guts out and delivered good results
Fish did not

I would be surprised to see him delisted if he still has a year to run on his contract. With Fev gone we need to keep as many avenues to goal. Fish did struggle this year but we have to remember he did dislocate his elbow in the preseason and i have no doubt this affected his marking which is his biggest asset.

Id say they keep him as he is still signed. If he wasnt he'd probably be gone. Hope he can turn it around. Could be a 30 goal kicker if he gets back to his best.

50/50 on Fish. His best is pretty good, his worst however is deplorable.

As a side note, I do hope we keep Edwards. At 21 he could prove to be pretty serviceable wherever he plays.

I think the fact that Garlett, Jacobs, Joesph will be added to the senior list (possibly Ellard as well) from the rookie list next year, as will the fact that both Henderson and Mclean have also joined the club, means the club (apart from the other rookies) has to drop at least 4 or 5 players from the senior list, and apart from Hartlett and Bannister and possibly Edwards, you would think the likes of Fisher and Wiggins would be the next 'tier' of players whose position on the list is in jepodary ...

I would also somehow doubt we'd be able to nab a decent out of contract player in the PSD either. It does look very shake for Fisher though.

Can't afford to delist him , he's on 400g a year . Don't worry i couldn't believe it either . Current footy dept spewing . If he was on 200g he would be gawn.

Garlett is a first year rookie player and can afford to be kept on the rookie list for another year.

Sauce is definitely up for promotion and I dont know about Joseph, but if he can be kept on the rookie list for another year and get used as our nominated rookie, that would be awesome.

We already have 2 gone from the list to cover Henderson and McLean. (Fev and Stevens) We must use at least 3 picks in the draft but can use 1 of them to elevate a rookie if we wish), and we have heard that Hartlett is gone, so we only need another 2 delistings. Some have mentioned it would be likely Banno will join Preston's list so that just leaves 1 compulsory. I would say we would probably free up another at least for the ND maybe 2 as we have so many good rookies that may get elevated. So maybe 4 more names at the very most.

If they don't allow it, he'd go straight to the Long term injury list and be covered by a rookie all year, yeah?
Yes. We could have a nominated rookie all year, but we just have to carry his payments into the next TPP and not have that extra spot on the senior list.

The discussion in this thread seems to have diverged from the OP to the point that it is now the same as this thread:

FWIW this was my last post on the topic:
So we will take pick 12 and 43 and elevate Joseph at a minimum...........maybe a pick 59 or PSD......

Room for McLean and Henderson........so 5 and maybe 6 spaces required:

Out:
Fevola (trade) - (Henderson)

In trouble:
Bentick - (McLean)
Hartlett - (pick 12)
Bannister - (pick 43)
Edwards - (pick 59/Joseph ........Bradhsaw? ;))
Wiggins/Stevens - (pick 59/PSD/Jacobs?)

Stevens retiring might throw a lifeline to someone, but the PSD may play a role as well if the Bradshaw rumours are to be believed.

Should survive:
Hadley
Johnson
Cloke - supposedly won another year on his deal, but with Fev going the most likely to stay of him Harts and Edwards.

Could Stevens save Jake Edwards or Wiggins to allow us to keep a Fringe forward to try in place of Fev?

Looked out of his depth in the VFL GF.

Shame he won't reach 100 games.
Out of his depth or a bad night. You don't play 100 games of AFL, and that not counting the 30-40 games he's missed through injury, kick 40 goals in a season from 19 games if you are out of your depth. Played alright at times in games he played this season. The 4 goals against the Swans was a good one.

Will need a good season though or he will be gone by the end of 2010.

I believe that Fisher's grand final performance was worse than simply one bad night. That would entail a few bad possessions, a turnover or two and being ordinary.

Fisher is too inconsistent and the incosistency happens throughout games rather than week to week. For example, there were moments in the Sydney game where he was absolutely brilliant - a purple patch of about 10-15 minutes that helped sway the entire game. Then the rest of the game people were groaning about him as though he was the most useless hack in the AFL.

I was a big rap for Fisher's game and still am a fan. I guess I always will be. It was exciting watching him develop. However, the game has past him by and regardless of how hard he works this preseason I really believe he is done. There would be players ahead of him on the chopping block but he'll get limited opportunities (if anything) next year.
