3 years and he’s failed to realise we need new assistants

not sure if other heads of football do much talking to the media but he seems to be very quiet. he is head of football and that is the area we are struggling somewhat and there is currently a lot of outside noise regarding the way we play footy and about our culture. Id expect one of them to come out and provide some feedback.

We have a Lloyd as our current head of football. If Balme can get the job done I don’t care about past indiscretions. We need to move away from that kind of thinking and do what’s best for the club moving forwardn

I tend to agree that we start asking a few questions. Football department seems out of synch and he's running it. The Austin hiring seems okay to date, but the lack of coaching changes other than the Covid stand downs seems to have us going backward rather than forward at this point in time. Worsfold 5 rounds in was strange timing.

You can't compare Lloyd to Balme. There'd be a revolution if Balme even stepped foot inside our club. We need to move back to actually having some passion for the club and understanding it's history, we aren't GWS, who don't have any.

I counter that and say we need to start running like a organisation, hire the best people for the job. It’s playing favourites and continuing with outdated methods that have caused our poor performance over the last 20 years

It's not an outdated notion to respect your history and the former players of the club who are still part of it. I'm talking about the health of the Club here, not the current team that represents it, the Club is more than just the football team.
I've said it before we aren't a franchised organisation we are a club that's been built on passion, I hope that we never lose that.


We aren't playing favourites, that man would probably be the least welcome visitor to our club ever, let alone think that we would employ him. You can hope for it all you like, I can guarantee you it will NEVER happen.

Clarkson's act as bad as it was, didn't rock the club anywhere near as much as Balme's did, he will never get a job at Carlton, doesn't matter how good he is.
He would never work for us either, so to even approach him would be a waste of time. He knows the score and he won't put himself in the position either. You need to start looking elsewhere if you think the club needs to replace Lloyd.

Most supporters care about winning games of football, not that some bloke punched someone 44 years ago.

As I’m not of the age to remember the famous incident, I don’t see how it would cause damage, having said that, I agree that Balme is yesterday’s man, it seems he even thinks so too, as he has taken a lesser role at Richmond this year.

Not that Balmey would even consider going to the blues but you get the best people for the job not look at incidents from 40 years ago. Otherwise you might as well have a revolving door with Wallsy parko and co.
