Past Brad Lloyd

Phil Smart picked Fyfe as one of his last acts. Lloyd took over the following year.

Lloyd has had a few good year recently but overall he's probably had more misses, our list fell apart after our window closed. Missed both McGoverns even though their dad begged us to take them. Missed Yeo even though he was a Freo supporter and asked us to trade for him, apparently we didn't need anymore of his type.

If you have a look at our Rnd1 selections you'd probably be horrified. However he does seemed to have turned a corner in recent years. The drafts of the last two years have been excellent (Logue pending).

Interesting, perhaps I'm wrong but I was pretty sure he was there as a recruiting manager in 2008 before being promoted? Fyfe was taken in 09 draft so he may have had a hand in it even though Smart was still around for that one.

All these recruitment folk have more misses than hits, including SOS. Just pointing out that he has an eye for mids and picked out a couple diamonds in the rough. Hopefully he can help us get one this year we need them especially if we're going to take a pp and 2 second rounders to the draft.

I'd be more worried if he took someone because their dad begged him. The rest is fair.

Things are looking up. Now we need to revamp strength and conditioning, remove some dead wood and recruit a senior assistant to assist Bolton.

Welcome Brad! Never thought I would be supporting a Lloyd. Let's hope you have nothing in common with your brother Matthew. Oh and please bring Cerra.

Yes! This did cross my mind that perhaps he has a good relationship with Cerra and could convince him to want to make the move to the Blues after next season.

Shiel + Cerra would be an awesome 2019 off-season coup.

Just reading the Freo board, seems he wasn't loved by all. But sour grapes I'm assuming would play a part. He also isn't employed as a list manager now. Perhaps his skills will better used in a GM role.

They haven't won a flag Todd. No wonder some feel they need to blame him for the club's inability to win one.

He's not a list manager but I'm still hopeful he'll encourage Cerra to come to us if he decides to head back to Vic.

Any thoughts on his suitability as head of football? Recruiting won't be part of his role, but ability to man manage?

Surprised this announcement hasn’t attracted a bit more attention on here. Would’ve thought this was a fairly significant appointment for the club, you would think that the head of football would play an important role over the next couple of years as we continue our rebuild.

Actually reckon that appointments like this are often underrated. You tend not to hear so much from the head of football as you do the CEO, senior coach or president but I’d argue the position is just as important.

Here’s hoping it’s a success.
I'd say there's a general confidence in our leadership and ipso facto who's appointed.

I hope he's a bit like Matthew and kicks a fair few goals

I think that Maffew has been pumping the sack Bolts balloon up in the hope that we will then take his brother as our head coach.

Maffew can make like the Russian a **** off.

Welcome to Carlton Brad... a place where your dad played football!

I expect him to be good for you. It is interesting re the timing and I would think he won’t join you until after the draft. He is contracted for next year.

Re Cerra, he would certainly know if he is committed or not, and if not, he could be gettable unfortunately. What would be the highest price the club would pay for him? That will be more or less the asking price.

Best to ask in the List Management thread as this is a welcome thread.

Well Matthew it seems you are faced with a dilemma of what is greater.

Your love of your brother, or your hatred of Carlton.....choose wisely.

On a serious note, seems like a serious pick up. I take no attentio to anything resembling "List Management" knocks from Freo people as that is not what he is doing here.
