Carlton supporter growing up?
I know I'm looking forward to Lloydy's injury updates9-10 hours later thread has burst to 2 pages - not sure people know what to do with this latest news in context with the rest of the train-wreck season
You guys will be interested to know that Brad continues the Hawthorn/Carlton connection.
Bolton.
Barker.
Lloyd.
Tim Clarke.
Also, he's the brother of Matthew and, more importantly, they're both the sons of former Carlton player John Lloyd.

Cheering because he is now one of us.It's definitely news. It's...ah... hard to know whether we "have got a good one" or not, though. DO we cheer? Or groan?
Seems a good CV.
Not for ThyFirst time I can remember cheering, rather than booing, a Lloyd.
Weird
not sure what that is incinerating but prepared to boo you for it............Not for Thy
Here's the connection I really want; 4 premierships in 8 years...
Whoever is willing to step up will determine that outcome and could spearhead a set of actions that will be the cornerstone of Carlton's next surge.
From the outside looking in, the managerial spots are just about sorted so the onus is on coaches adequate enough to positively develop players and then go bang.
Consistent reinforcements + refined skills will determine such results.
What is the difference between SOS's role and BLloyd's role?

Massive appointment for the club. Hope he starts before trade week. Reports regarding Lloyd so far are very positive.
I am assuming that he has bought into rebuild as part of interview process. Important. Needs to stay on message.
Next, if Liddle isn't already doing it, is to sort out medical/fitness area. It need to addressed now if not before. Must be fixed way before pre season starts.
On top of this he needs to support Bolton and the coaches and the List Management team as much as possible.
Since MLG has come in he has brought in Bolts, SOS, Liddle, Lloyd and some others. He's done what he has said he would do and has done it properly. So far I have been very impressed. SOS was right. It's a new club and one heading in the right direction.
Credit where it's due. Go Blues!![]()
Wherever you go and hear. Not one has said bad word about Brad in the footy world. That’s why I like the appointment someone thats outside of our club.
The attitudes and negativity of a lot of people in here are really starting to wear me down. Constant criticising (whinging) sounds like a race to the bottom. Nearly all of it is without basis or any knowledge at all. I really am sick of it.
Actually sounds like some think they are smarter than those is charge.
Support the club, question issues with facts or sound reasoning but FFS give people a chance. No one is perfect but the club has come a long long way in the last 3 years. Some seem to forget we nearly shut not long ago. The culture was awful and the direction non existent.
So much as improved and we have a clear direction. If you don’t like it, join the board and do something or ........ off [emoji35]
I really am sick of your crap.
I've heard about Brad via reputation, know what everyone else knows about Simon (who has a psychology background), and have connections with some of the extended family.
My understanding
SOS: GM List Management & Strategy - In charge of managing the list; recruiters, scouts, contracts, salary cap management, final say on trades etc
Lloyd: Head of Football - Everything that affects on field; coaching, list management (SOS's boss*), medical, player welfare
Liddle: CEO - In charge of everything but mostly off-field; membership, sponsors, marketing, staffing, club facilities, looking like a bald Michael Fassbender etc
*aka BOSOS. Any likes will incur royalty payments to LanceRomance
.. or in Caro's opinion its:
SOS: GM List Management & Strategy - In charge of managing the list; recruiters, scouts, contracts, salary cap management, final say on trades etc
SOS: Head of Football - Everything that affects on field; coaching, list management (SOS's boss*), medical, player welfare
SOS: CEO - In charge of everything but mostly off-field; membership, sponsors, marketing, staffing, club facilities, looking like a bald Michael Fassbender etc
Not a really good way to encourage different views or even questions or observations on here I would think.
btw - I would wager a good number of posters on here are smarter than the typical AFL Club employee...do you see things differently?
Love your positivity Soap - but positivity in itself isn't the only contribution people can make in participating in forums.
