Brad Miller retires

Good on Bradley, retiring from the Tigers after 157 games - 133 with the Demons from 2003-2010. Only aged 29... You get the feeling he jumped before being pushed. Kelvin Moore in the same boat (Chaplin incoming??)

Vale Brad, you made a good contribution to the club both on field and in the aesthetics department off-field ;) .

Someone can post a link, I'm on my phone so cbf.

Good player, Good Career never a world beater but did his role fairly nicely. Would still get a spot on our list before half the players there right now.

Decent player on his day, but definitely a top bloke. Remember going to a training session when I was younger with Dad, we were on the fence and a few of the boys nodded in my direction as they walked off past us but Brad stopped and had a chat with me and the old man. We talked about the weather in QLD IIRC.

Best of luck for the future Brad :thumbsu:

Well done Brad.

Top Bloke. Decent player. Reckon his problem was mental more than anything. Had the tools to take it to the next level but couldn't quite get there.

Saw him at a few after match functions etc when he was spending time in the 2's. Always very upbeat, no bitterness at all, wanting to do the best for the club. Also gave up a "fairwell" game that was offered as it wouldn't be fair to his teammates at Casey who were playing finals. Terrific club man.

I agree and disagree with the sentiments here

Yes, he was a top bloke, yes he was seen as a leader and loyal.

But, he took a shit on the club AND supporters when he left

Wasn't he delisted?

Not to my recollection...

I'm trying to find the article now, but can't...I'll keep looking.

He said, along the lines of "the richmond supporters are amazing. Its nice to play in front of passionate supporters for a change"

I don't mean he walked out, but he certainly had a crack once he'd left

Probably in comparison to Casey

Was clear to me he was talking about Melbourne

I don't think Brad was too happy about his last year at the club, perhaps understandably.

I see the loyalty factor in not passing up a farewell game, I also see the veiled swipe at the club and supporters

Fair enough if others don't read it that way, but I certainly do

He was a serviceable player who was unfortunate to be thrown in positions where needed at the time. A loyal player as shown by him sticking it out with the Casey boys instead of taking a game in the 1s he didn't think he deserved. Went on to the tiges to again be a serviceable player playing his role as a mentor along side jack. Confidence was his only issue and was probably a barometer for our side. And yes, his missus is smoking, and yes she will be missed :p

I will miss Pia.
And you don't have to be a Dee either.;)

Agree and disagree too. He was a top bloke but a below average player. Really couldn't cut it on the big stage. Was played almost out of hope that he'd play a great game some day, but never did. He was done as a player and it was a wise decision to jump before he was pushed.

His biggest standout game that I can recall was that game against Port in 2010 when he kicked five - I remember wondering 'Maybe he's finally arrived???'

I'm guessing he was probably dropped about two weeks later. As others have said, just could never get his act together on the big stage. With some players I guess it's as much a mental leap as a physical leap from VFL to AFL.

EDIT: According to Demonwiki, Brad played his last game for Melbourne about a month later against Adelaide.

I thought he was pretty good in THAT game against Freo.
