There's been a bit of discussion over the past week over whether or not we would look into trading for Brad Miller. I for 1 think he could fit into our side nicely and we should try to get him if the asking price isnt too high.

But shouldn't we should be looking more at drafting some young, fresh talent, because as its been shown (with the exception of Michael and McPhee) that our trades with other clubs haven't always worked out so well..

And Sean Denham, Sean Welmann, Paul Barnard etc. With this draft being touted as very weak, if we can pick up a ready made player relatively cheaply, then I see no reason why we shouldnt.

Hardness at the ball?

He's not soft, but he doesn't go hard at the ball and he doesn't break packs. He plays uncontested footy, he leads hard into space.

Why put five years of time and effort into Johns and then recruit a bloke who can run better but has worse skills?

We're every chance to add Daniher to the list as well.

if the club could get him on the very cheap or through the psd i think he is worth a puint. would only be interested in seeing if he could maybe hold down chb. thats it otherwise no

Id rather give Jason Cloke a second chance at senior football than Miller. Has all the attributes to play KP, yet doesnt put in enough effort to apply them. Still need to add more to our midfield brigade if we're to compete against the faster, more skillful sides.

We've got too many talls!!!!!!!!! we have Lloyd, Lucas, Ryder, Welsh, Laycock, Hille, Watson*, Fletcher, Michael, Bradley, Johns, McPhee Lovett-Murray and thats just the one that play in our regular side. Also add on Lee, McKinnon, Gumbleton, Chartes, Neagle, Bolton and Dick to the non-regulars. In the next few years, we are going to be the team with all the great forwards and backs, but not a very good midfield. Don't waste money on players like Miller, who with our forward-line would be lucky to get a game.

All these players are 190+

Like I said, it has been a discussion over the past week. Im not saying definitly yes or no it would be a good decision, but if we get him cheaply, it cant harm to give him a 1 or 2 year contract and see how he goes.

If he's battling at Melbourne why would we want him?

If you use that logic , McPhee was struggling to get a game with Freo who where a bottom side at the time so why did we pick him ?

i fink he would be handy in the backline, if we could get him cheaply. as for johns we have given him these years and i cant see him ever being better then wat he has shown. if sheedy goes the next coach will want to get rid of him as well as a few of his favs he has keept on the list for to long

Just what we are looking for, an attacking half back flanker (nash, mcphee, mcveigh, nlm, slattery, ryder/fletcher, etc)

Oh thats right he is a half forward isnt he (monfries, lovett, houli, hislop, bradley, johns, welsh, etc)

Nah think we have his spots covered with non rejects who are younger and more developed

when was hislop and houli a forward?
Slattery, Ryder and mcviegh aren't attacking half back flankers
Don't want miller

Maybe you might want to watch some games - Hislop is going to be an onballer/half forward. Houli has played only at hff for both bendigo and essendon

Ryder plays at half back and is attacking. Could have sworn that slattery and mcveigh also spent the majority of their time in the back half rebounding the ball.

But somehow you didnt argue with the other dozen names i put up.

wasn't houli and hislop both recruited as mids.
slattery is a tagger not a rebounding defender
