Of the list you named Wood is unlikely to leave the Lions, Jolly just signed a 4 year deal, Hudson is too old for us to consider, Blake will stay at the Cats so that leaves Meesen and Moran as the last 2 left. Messen has accepted the Dees contract offer and just needs a trade to be agreed upon for him to end up their which leaves Moran as the sole option.

Considering that the rumour is we will get M.Morton by swapping 2nd & 3rd round picks with the Eagles - picks 19 & 35 for 30 & 46 - we would then have picks 2, 18, 30 & 46. If we could get away with swapping Hartigan & 30 or 46 for Moran we have done well. Pick 46 could be saved for a project pick.

How about

Morton and pick 30 from WCE for pick 19
Pick 30 ontraded to western bulldogs for McMahon
and Pick 35 and Hartigan for Moran

Therefore we get Moran, McMahan and Morton.
for picks 19, 35 and Hartigan.

Not bad at all. Lose nothing really and gain 3 players who could possibly help improve our team markedly next year. Just think we should sit back and watch the parade go by and wait for any surprises yet to come.

2nd best in the league is debatable...

McIntosh is very good.
Hale is crap.

Off the top of my head,
Port Adelaide (Lade & Brogan)
West Coast (Cox & Seaby)
Geelong (Ottens & King)
Sydney (Everitt & Jolly)
Brisbane (Charman, McDonald, Wood)
would all rival North's ruck division.

if he was so great he would have forced his way into the side - since he is so mobile and strong - he could have competed for full forward, CHF, third tall, CHB, FB or 3rd defender postion.

I prefer him overall to Wood actually, although Cameron would be in front a a straight out tap ruckman

So what? My point is that 20/21 year old 200cm tall players don't make much of an impact in their first few years. A very small number of exceptions play lot's of games and do well, MOST play reserves until they are good enough, even those that go on to be stars.
 
Haven't seen heaps of him but I reckon Moran has definetly got some tools to work with. For memory a late convert from rugby union so probably still plenty of improvement left in him.

We swap second and third round picks with Weagles for Morton.

Hartigan and 45 to North for Moran - an underpriced big bloke who has looked OK and has obvious folks ahead of him at Arden Street.

its pick 35, but yer still sweet. Hopefully we can get a pick in the range of high 20's low 30's for Meyer to cover

of that list - i reckon Wood WILL leave brisbane - as he has several clubs who are extremely interest

Meesen has a higher level of growth - and until meesen is signed and delivered - he is available

Hudson IS a better ruckman - than all these fella's - no need to "hope" for development -

Blake played 22 - of 25 senior games and is 22 - so by your standard of ruckman not playing much at that age - he is obviously a rather special exception - and i believe he is incredibly likely to leave

Blake > Moran

blake has the runs on the board already - Moran has a lot to prove yet

i;m not fooling myself that moran is anything more than he is - a young mobile ruckman who played some suprisingly good debut matchs 2 seasons ago

Looks as if this years draft must be really weak, we are looking to trade all our draft picks away, probably good for us considering we stuff majority of ours up.

Trust me when I say we are probably the club that attracts the most trolls and dont do shit about it.

We atract the trolls and especially the n00bs who get on here and make their first 10 posts here. We deal with it and we deal with them. the mods give us some amount of leniency to deal with trolls the way they should be dealt with. try shooting them down in flames instead of going crying to mummy.
