Brad Scott how long?

Yeah. Undo Dodoro's 20 years. It will take a while. Which makes recruiting McKay baffling. We couldnt be happier though.

I think at the time we just needed a big body down back to let Ridley, Reid etc do their thing but it’s not really in line with the strategy. I guess ya gotta pay 95% of the cap some way.

In a sick and twisted way I don’t mind that that the no finals win jokes will give people a bit of a laugh for a bit longer. It’s a pretty shit record haha

If the club bring back Hird then shut the joint up.

No way I see Brad getting the arse the club has a vision and is aligned in what they are building towards. Zac Merret has had like 7 different coaches in his career.

Changing coaches won't do anything we are young and injury ravaged the club is trying to rebuild the list which is going to take years to fix thanks to that **** head Dudoro

Brad is mediocre, lacks ambition and that creative spark. He's holding the team back by managing expectations.

To be fair, half their backline was out tonight
Even if players are out, you would still want to see the effort from who is there.
Talent might be lacking, but you still want effort.

As i have watched from my team over the last few years, when the effort goes, the team is cooked.
Bombers are cooked because their young kids are mediocre, and the older players (apart from a few) put in stuff all effort in 80% of the matches.

It isn't Brad's fault, the club is rotten from the inside and has been for a long time, but Brad will cop the shit at some point.

We’ve had ten debutants this year. You can’t say they’re mediocre, it’s way too early to make that call.

We’re in a complete ground-up rebuild. Results like this are going to happen.

Scott is on board with it and doing it. We could sack him for another coach, who would have the same terrible results and would last about 10 minutes.

Just got to tough it out and work out who is part of the future.

When Ben Rutten was fired what was the justification given by the club?

Was it that Rutten wasn't up to getting the club to the next level or that a full rebuild was required?

Not saying this is necessarily the case here but there seems to be very little accountability from boards regarding such scenarios. How many times do we hear that a coach developing a list gets fired because performance isn't up to scratch to then be replaced by a new coach who 12-18 months in then declares a scorched earth rebuild because they've failed to do any better than their predecessor.

Clubs seem to then go into rewrite the narrative overdrive and spin the whole we knew we were going to have to do this from day dot garbage. This despite press regarding the new coach, usually with quotes from the President/board about how this new appointment will result in an upward trajectory that will solve all the past problems.

He’s done well to stand up for his position where others haven’t in recent years. Those influencing from the back rooms have quietened significantly since Brads been there and it’s no coincidence.

He’s not the problem, the historic list build is. And the club has made changes to this area as it’s identified it. Nothing to do but persist with the leaders the club already has as it’s their best way forward.

Brad will see out his contract extension, then he'll either get turfed once the new kids show promise and they want a better coach for success, or get turfed when all the new kids are spuds and it's somehow his fault. This is the way.

Had a hand in removing Dodoro that's a massive win also Sheedy is no longer at the club.

Your right about the back room politics since Brad has been in charge we haven't had any outside influence Brad wont be pushed around by those ****s.

It's the most stable the board and club has been in years they all seem to be on the same page pulling in the same direction to the goal they want to achieve.

Having that unity and alignment from the board all the way down to the coach has a big role when a team achieves the ultimate.

I think Rutten wasn't ready to be senior coach.

We got spooked by the Crows who were looking at Rutten as possibly being their new coach so the club puts in place a stupid succession plan to take over from Worsfold.

Until this week the effort largely WAS there.

Extremely competitive losses to teams like Brisbane and Carlton despite being massively undermanned.

And, the rot, which has been there for a long time, is getting removed. I don't think Brad is 'the man', but the off-field is certainly looking a lot more professional now. We might get a win or two later in the season, but most fans just want to see the kids get games and upgrades on the senior cloggers.
We have a decent draft hand, and for once, I'm confident it will be used appropriately.
To lose, even by that margin, to a well oiled machine like Geelong isn't the worst thing. Shows them how a real team goes about it.

You do realise that every club in the AFL would be struggling 'big time' if they had the Bombers nightmare injury run. If you must 'put the boot in while he is down'..... then at least do it when it's justified, not before.

Forgive me Father for I have sinned, how dare I use terrible, terrible word "Bugger" with 2 smiling moustaches to sink the boot into Brad while he is down.

I have been to confession and done 3 "Hail Marys".

I am now just waiting for Andrew Dillon to drive down for an informal chat with myself and possibly Chief on behalf of all BF posters who will undoubtedly be as outraged at my post as your good self.

Once this trauma is behind us all, if the Cats win the GF we can all sit down together with Baily Smith and enjoy a few "you know what's".

Again sincerest apologies to you and the rest of the Scott family.

Now "Bugger Off"
