lol at the people saying that Scott just has a shit list.
He just had a shit list at North too.
He's been at it 14 years. This is just what he does.
Essendon would do will to catch on before the damage gets even worse.

Not to let Dodoro or their systemic cancer during their drug cheating era off the hook. But he is definitely a major part of their problem.
Who Dodoro? he's been gone for 2 years now Rosa is in charge

I said at the time they were crazy for not letting Merrett go, even if they thought he was worth more, they stuck with a 31 year old now, and they have big problems... they are not honest with where their at as a football club. Brad Scott talks at times like their in a rebuild not sure if that's to buy time for his own sake.
If truely believed that you would never have kept him.

At least they hurt Hawthorn, that's the main thing. They really have nothing else to hope for as a club right now.

I don't think it hurt Hawthorn much, in fact I think it did them a favor Merrett good player,
but I never rated him as high as some people. the Bombers are the ones that will regret that decision not Hawthorn.

He is over 30, Hawks should target someone in their prime at the end of this season maybe a Butters? Dogs are favorite given the talk but you would be asking the questions, if Hawks show good form this year you are always a chance.

Probably not but any little win for Essendon is seen as a massive win, particularly in the off-season where you don't have to play a game and create whatever narrative you want.

Targeting Butters is pretty unrealistic when Hawthorn has less trade capital this season than they did last season, when they held Carlton's first-round pick. But yes he would be much more suited to the age profile of the Hawks squad than Merrett, he's also a more dynamic player.

Yeah but I think Butters is a free agent, that's what Hawthorn need to target free agents, not trades.
because you don't pay the capital only the salary.

He's a restricted free agent

You don’t sack Scott yet. The list is still going downhill. Once it’s on the up and they’re about to push for the 8, that’s when you sack Scotty and get hirdy back in.

It is the club. The media narrative is because the club feeds the information to their buddies to get the puff pieces
Essendon feels like has the least amount of Essendon people in the media

who are these Essendon mouth pieces? Cal Twomey is widely regarded as one of the most balanced journalists out there, Sarah Jones? maybe, she is more host than Journo, Matthew Lloyd? loves to whack the club when he sees fit.

Hawthorn on the other hand feel like have more than any other club (Dunstall, Dermott, Lewis, Hodge, isnt Howie a closest Hawk fan)

We were struggling with list spots so selling the picks we had for higher ones was not worth the (re)investment

I firmly believe Scott was sold a trojan horse by suggesting we were closer than he realised after he arrived. By the middle of year two, Dodoro was being pushed out, upper management was changing and Scott along with Craig Vozzo realised the shit storm we were actually in.

By giving him an extra year on top of his contract was evidence to show that the "re build" was really starting at the end of 2024 and not 2023 like the paper trail suggests

For the record, I dont think Scott takes us to anywhere near the promised land, what he is good for is being thick enough skinned to get those who think they wiled power out of there comfort zone and buy back into what is best for the club and not themselves. Having Dodoro moved on whilst being there was a great start for me.

If by some chance he starts to galvanise and bring some success then we can reconsider

I said friends, not fans.
All and sundry know essendon are favourites of the media. Hell, there was a 2 week puff-piece leading into the season about them in the herald sun

if you think that was a puff piece trying to rehash the same bull shit from a decade ago then I have some magic beans I want to sell you

Butters will want a flag. He isn’t going there. He’ll go to the WB if they can do it. Without any improvement Essendon is only attracting your Dylan Shiel types. No player like Butters is going to Essendon unless they want a big pay cheque but a belting every week and a hard tag.

you were alluding to people in the media,

I suppose if you ain't got the cattle what can you do, but this could very well be the year North Melbourne finally get that long awaited win over Essendon.

At that point the calls to bring the prodigal son back will probably go into overdrive. Between Brad Scott and Vossy which one is the more mediocre coach i wonder?

Anyone that follows the cult of James Hird, commonly referred to as the Essendon Football Club, knows that he will be back in 2027.

The great man has his acolytes in the top seats at the club and has positioned himself well in the media to knife Brad Scott just like he did to Matthew Knights.

If Dodoro isn't an immediate return in 2027, he will also be back in 2028.
If Dodoro comes back can i get a free pass to jump off this ship?

I dont even want Hird back but Dodoro imo did more damage to the club then the saga did
