Yeah still pretty overrated on here based on his very good second half to 2015.

What makes him impressive is his overhead strength for someone who isn't that big. Judging him purely on his ground level work/rebounding he's nowhere near top 5 in the league.

If he's not playing tall we aren't getting the most out of him IMO.

Hopefully one day we play with just two KPDs and Shep (Schofield out) so that we can bring in some more rebound in the form of Cole/Rotham/etc

Yeah you may be right, he did play a lot better with only Gov and Schofield as talls. I still have faith he is not the finished article and can improve :).

This. Playing 3 genuine kpd and shep isn't our best lineup, yet they kept running it out there this year.

Sheppard is a beauty. One of a handful of players who performed during our last two finals debacles. Rarely beaten and can play on KPPs or smalls. Would love to see his class further up the ground.

So guys, i think its time to talk about my sweet prince again.

How important do we all think Shep is going to be this season? or his he merely a lower end of the cog ?

I personally think he can be a real barometer and if he can improve say 5% on last season, sharpen up his disposal and get some inside 50s he will be a really really important player for us.

If they go back to playing him as the third tall, instead of three actual talls, down back i'll be a lot happier.

Shep will be a cog but a premiship cog that would better than most teams star players. Would definitely be freos best player after this year and will jusitfy our selection to over look Fyfe as he will be a premiership player and instantly better than F7.
