I think the opinion of 99.9% of posters hasn't changed one way or the other.
Opinion with Symes was always divided and had mainly to do with perceived limitations wrt the Port gameplan. They are fair enough too as not everyone is suited to all gameplans.
With a bit of luck he will take like a fish to water at the Crows and have a long and successful career.

Its interesting as times change - I was thinking along the lines of a Symes/Mattner swap earlier in the year and the general thought on this board was Port would have to throw something else into the mix ..

I've posted on both the Port board and here that I think he has the makings of a class player, and I am absolutely chuffed to think he'll be wearing the genuine tri-colours in future.

Expect him to improve sharply in an environment where he is appreciated.

Yep, knew that, you have been saying that for quite some time.
I agree, on the proviso that he improves in at least one more area. Playing with the Crows will probably add a bit more to his defensive side.

To be fair I would suggest 1/4 of all AFL footballers fit this criteria.

Some looked good but couldnt adapt. Sometimes the coach really doesnt know what he wants and is blinded by ''best talent'' and not best fit.
