Im actually over it. Il just shut up, buy a membership, rock up to games and cheer.
Theres more to life than figuring out what is wrong with this mob. We have analysed, discussed, chewed up and thrown out every possible scenario and solution to making this team a successful one. Im over it.
Why cant they come prepared week in week out, make a pact that a high standard of footy is the non-negotiable.
First we wanted to match it with the top 4, then we wanted to play like Geelong, then we wanted to play finals, then we wanted to win the close ones, then we wanted to find consistency, then we wanted to learn how to close out games and now were trying to learn how to start them.
What a bunch of ****in sooks we have down at the club. Too many whingers who arent prepared to put a price on their performance. This complacency is a cancer thats spread right through the playing group. I mean did we not LEARN ONE DAMN THING from the Collingwood game? Anything at all? Are they really that stupid this playing group? Because GOLD COAST KICKED THE FIRST 7 GOALS OF THE GAME.
Get beaten by a better team I can cop. But to now show up for the 2nd time in 2 weeks is a disgrace. This is why it hurts.
BANG BANG BANG!!

Top post Tazaa. If these muppets don't come with the necessary will to win each each week all the analysis in the world means dick.

Saw a bloke in a roos beanie driving his wheelchair in the pissing rain from Caulfield station. Maybe he can have a chat to them about commitment.

Lets not forget that we are missing two of our very best midfielders. Not an excuse but a reality. Push them into the 22, move Basti and McKenzie to the VFL and have those two, Jacobs, Dumont, Wright, Harper and Wood killing it in the twos and depth all of a sudden looks good.
The only problem with this is we were missing them last week too and the result was very very different.
It is like watching Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde you just never know which one is going to take the field.
They need a shrink and sorry to say but a new game plan as well and if that means a new coach then so be it.
If Greenwood gets dropped and Bastinac and McKenzie stay I will be another who wont be there rather than microwaving any membership.

Absolutely spot on tazaa.

Its amusing to hear Scott bemoaning the lack of rebound and fast transition, while at the same time picking the slowest, poorest skilled team we have fielded all year.
You nailed it playing one of the quickest youngest fittest side around they drop a quick player and replace him with a tall.Didnt make sense Nahas should have been in and Mc Donald not sub

His development of players has been great i think, and his tactics during the week are usually pretty sound (apart from this week), but the fact still remains that he is a bad game day coach and struggles to make a change for the better.

Nailed it. Not sure there is a player on the list who you could say hasn't improved individually under Scott. Even the experienced blokes are better - Wells/Petrie have played their best football under Scott and the young crop of kids have improved also.
Unfortunately shinboner is correct when he says Scott is a poor game day coach. He spends far too much time with his hands in the air bitching about umpiring decisions than thinking about changing what isn't working on game day. There seems to be game plan 'A' and not much else.

Unless you have an eye on the coaches box for the whole game then you wouldn't know what Brad Scott does. it's pretty silly to use TV footage as an indicator of what coaches do.

PRetty sure all Buckley does is get angry and swear. Likewise Clarkson. His players carry him, although he sure can move those magnets.

This just about sums up my feelings Taza.
I am so angry at the minute, I just don't want to read or watch anything about footy for 2 weeks. I feel we let the club down, the supporters, and pretty much pissed our season down the drain yesterday, despite it being only round 7. I know we can beat Geelong (for example) or pinch another tough one at some point and it will make up for it, but to me this season is shot. This team doesn't have what it takes to consistently get it done, and this isn't fixable over night.

Might be off the mark here, and happy to stand corrected, but thought GC beat us with pretty basic football in the first quarter. Backed their midfield to win stoppages and clearances, then ran way out to position and beat us on the spread. That's a major indictment on the coach and leadership group. 1. For the coach to mix anything up after 6 goals, and 2. The leadership to not address extremely poor efforts at almost every contest.

Pleased that we've been able to demonstrate a reasonable execution of a different gameplan this year, but means bugger all if you don't implement changes WITHIN a game.

I hate to post anything along the lines of Sack Scotts etc, but after 5 years Brad is well past the honeymoon period and think there is enough data to suggest his match day coaching over the journey is worthy of criticism. That being said the players were just as responsible as the coach for the result on the weekend. However when a trend continues over an extended period of time, penny has to drop sometime.

Everyone knows my attitude towards Scott and while Ive tried to be more supportive over the last 12 months, the same issues keep coming up and after 5 years Scott has taken us from a middle of the road team to a middle of the road team. Enough is enough, after 5 years he's had a fair crack at it and its time for a change. If Hinkley can take a basket case to equal top within 18 months then what is Scott doing?

If players are not sticking to structures (this is Scott's excuse all the time) then either he can't deliver a message, the players are dumb or they players haven't brought into his plan. Either way, the coach is done in my eyes. Time for a change as I'm sick of rocking up to games and watching insipid performances.

Yep mental giant is our Brad. I am starting to believe that the games we have won in the past have been on the back of pure player performance and not any tactical knowledge Brad has brought to the table. Starts to make me wonder just how good we could be if we had a coach that was actually tactically smart?

From all reports he is great on the sports science and player management, but the match day coaching is a little lacking for mine, for a bloke who has been in the caper long enough.

Hallelujah, you have seen the light !!!!!!

TBH I am starting to think the players need a new voice as well.

It's almost like everything gets a little too cushy down there after a win and focus is lost.

Whatever it is IDK, but this group has not really improved in 5 years (as a team) and frankly I am sick of hearing the same tired excuses.

Who in their right mind would have extended Scotts contract an extra 3 years? Absolutely astounding!

Well, he actually got a 4 year extension at the end of 2012 on the back of 100 point finals loss, go figure, would be funny if wasn't so irresponsible:thumbsdown:

The thing is, whatever the coaches did or didn't do or what we think they should or shouldn't have done during the game, it was during the game that we got back within a goal. Maybe if they'd done things differently the rot would have continued and we'd have lost by more. We have no idea. And some of us really, really have no idea.

I thought the club did the right thing, when everyone thought the match day coaching was not up to scratch, to make major changes on the coaching panel. Brad is not the type of coach who throws the playing pieces up in the air, we know that. Maybe Tudor and Brown aren't either. Or just maybe it's just not the brilliant idea some people think it might be, to take players out of the positions they are good at and have trained for, just to prove you are flexible on game day. What gives you the best chance of getting the game back? Maybe it's the strategy that got us back into the game yesterday.

All of which brings us back to how much control the coaches have between games, and whether, once the game has been forensically examined, there is a consequence for players who don't follow instructions, don't move the ball properly, don't tackle, don't chase and aren't ready to play when the game starts.

It's starting to get to the point where I'm thinking either players not performing consistently need to be dropped, and if they're not then we need a change in coaching personnel. I'm sick of carrying experienced players who are hot and cold and lack leadership when it is needed.

Mini-cleanout or mini-rebuild at end of year may be on the cards regardless of W-L ratio.

Well I have been lucky enough to get some prematch addresses, spent a game in the coaches box and been taken through some video reviews.

BS is defintely not a stupid man.

Have seen the team execute to the letter the prematch for a half e.g. Geelong and then regress to old habits.

We won't go for a mini-rebulid. We can't afford to with Petrie, Boomer, Dal Santo and Wells much closer to the end. A mini rebuild will kill off their chances of being involved in a flag tilt and I'd hazard a guess to say that we would have a fair bit tied up with them both financially and in a flag tilt sense. We would then effectively be waiting another 4 years before we are ready again.
