Looks like Brady left :watercloset: at the right time.

The AFL’s financial squeeze has cost West Coast their list manager Darren Glass, with the former captain quitting after just one season to take a job outside of football.

From my understanding Glass has walked a way to take on another role outside of football. Don't believe it is the soft cap reduction that has cost him his job.

Good one.

Soft cap would place downward pressure on salaries, making other jobs more attractive?

Reckon so. Might not be the worst thing to have more volunteer / semi professional roles around clubs similar to the good old days. Maybe we should be an innovator and get more of these in at low cost by offering fringe benefits (non taxable* - such as membership privileges, back of house access other intangibles) to genuine fans with football and organisation brains. Then we can use them also as insiders for in house media and fly on the wall stuff as well. There would be plenty of good social media capable hardcore fans that would be happy to be more involved.

Under the new structure, Rawlings will become General Manager of Football Talent and will oversee all areas relating to talent identification and player acquisition while the new GM of Football Performance will oversee all on-field football programs including coaching, high performance and medical, operations, player development and wellness, and soft cap management.

Any idea how many other clubs have split that role?

The Tigers have the role split but the others have the one role.

Richmond - GM Performance - Tim Livingstone and GM Talent - Blair Hartley

We have been considering the increasing complexity of our football program, in conjunction with other challenges facing the business, and how best to align resources to continue to deliver us the strongest possible results on and off the field,” Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said.

Thankyou GR, you go above and beyond, as always.

Interesting. Once again I get nothing but the right vibes from Rawlings. Identifies what the club needs, identifies what he is best at, finds way to make the two happen. When we win our next premiership IMHO it will be off the back of this bloke and I'll be first in line to buy him a beer.

Going to be a long line. Hope he can handle his piss.
