I'm not going to say much other than you guys would be howling if you copped 31 frees against to 19 in a very close game. To say it is just North fans is rubbish. I watched the replay and even Buckley was commentating at how biased the umpiring was. I don't really care if certain things are paid or not paid, just dislike bias and inconsistency. I don't judge how bad the umpiring is based on what I feel because I am naturally biased, but when neutral commentators say it is bad then they have no reason to lie.

At the end of the day we had 27 scoring shots to 24 so to lose by 13 points was disappointing but given the side we fielded I was pretty happy with the end result.

I hope this weeks game is just as entertaining, just hope the umpiring is of a higher standard.

regardless of what you or anyone else thinks of that game and the umpiring it is not going to change the result. So move on, get on with your life and put it behind you. Do you think you're the first side to ever be screwed by poor umpiring? No. It happens to us all. Just get over it, it is part of footy.

On Scarlett and his absence, Hale was beating him before his injury and out marked him three times and kicked two in quick time.

By all reports, Scarlett twinged his hammy early in that game, tried to play through it but couldn't, so was rested for the rest of the game. Therefore, Hale beat a guy essentially playing on one leg. Amazing effort!

Hale was terrific today, no doubt, and if he can hold his form he will cause some serious distress in September. But the games that really count are still a couple of weeks off and his form in last year's finals losses was pretty unimpressive - 8 kicks over the two games. Of course he had some mates though.

Thought this thread was about Brady Rawlings, or isn't he worth talking about after his game today? FWIW Hale was great today, and certainly took the honours from Scarlett when they played on eachother.

Look, I don't want to get into it again. I had my spray on the night and tried to move on, but the articles in the paper the next day specifically pointed out how the umpiring shifted the game into Geelong's favour. To different papers commented on it. It was there for all to see.

It doesn't mean we are better than you with better umpiring or anything like that, but to deny it had an impact is to deny what was widely accepted happened (even by the Cats supporters I spoke to on the night).

I was at the game and the umpiring was sh!t both ways.....you guys are becoming the biggest bunch of whingers in the AFL.

Hale has been excellent since that game and is now a very good footballer, but he dominated Jason Saddington last week FFS. Taking a step up to the best defender of his generation is a big ask.

So no, I wouldn't expect him to look as dangerous as he did against Scarlett in that game, this week.
