The way of life, Australians just dont give a **** and knowing I can drive for 6 hours then walk on land no other human has ever touched or seen. A true wilderness that hasn't been conquered.

... and you can also see '**** off we're full' on bumpers all over the nation.

I'm not sure there's anything noteworthy.

I mean, it's got a decent balance of many areas, but I don't see any particular area that is outstanding.

What's funny about that? Australian rock is some of the best music going around, and is actually quite popular in the UK and around the world.

we may have some good music, but its definitely not something you would brag about. Compared to other countries we have nothing to brag about with anything to do with the arts. We're great at sport but visual art, literature, music etc are not our strengths as a nation.

If you go overseas, they all say that Australia has the hottest chicks.

Also if guys have an Australia accent, it is like bread and butter to pick up chicks overseas. They all dig the aussie accent.

Can't compare them to Queensland or NSW. And Bells is better than anything we have, our surf beaches suck:thumbsd:
Middleton and the mid coast aren't all that bad, but of course they suck in comparison to NSW and Queensland.

I never realised how awesome our beaches are until I went overseas. Even massively hyped Californian beaches like Malibu are garbage compared to some of the stuff we have here - cold, cloudy water and generally inferior surf to stuff you can find all over the place on the east coast.

Sporting culture is awesome, love the unique quirkiness of the outback communities as well. Nothing quite like driving into the sticks and pulling up at a pub in the middle of nowhere to find that the people there are the nicest you could ever meet, and they'll direct you to the nearest giant <insert fruit here>. There's something awesome about the vibe when you hit the country areas that I can't put my finger on. Plus we've got the beaches, stunning environments in general, the summers are magic, we can take the piss out of each other without too many people taking offense, our 4th July equivalent is basically just an opportunity to chuck some green and gold on, get pissed and have a game of backyard cricket. And that's something else - we're proud of ourselves and our country, we're gritty and love the underdog tag in any situation, but on the same token we don't get unnecessarily offended or serious sally about things like the treatment of our flag etc.. We put value in our actions rather than the superficial shit.

I could go on forever, so many things to love about Australia. The standout negative from a foreigner's point of view (not that it's something I personally care about) is that we're not very "cultured" in terms of general history. I know of a few poms who've come over and loved just about everything, but missed the whole museum, art gallery and several-hundred-year-history factor. To each their own I guess.

What would you brag about to an international about Australia?

Money, freedom, good music, etc. Thoughts?

May 2010, M&C Saatchi was already on to it (paid for by our taxes)
