A brand new season looms and so does a brand new Essendon Football Club website. The best AFL Club website – and the only independently operated club site – will be re-launched next Monday with new features and an even more efficient navigation system making use even easier for Bomber fans.

The new-look essendonfc.com.au has been designed for modern screen sizes - it will look great on 17 inch screens, but even more amazing on the newer big screen displays of 19 inches and beyond.

Using cutting edge website techniques, the new website will also give users more information at their fingertips without having to load a new page, ensuring we remain the speediest and simplest to use AFL Club website.

The new home page will focus even more on the information that our users and members have told us they want and will include all the news stories, game information and player profiles.

It will also include a regular player blog with rising star Paddy Ryder.

Bomber.tv will undergo a total revamp. Two new weekly panel shows will debut in 2008 – a preview show each Thursday and full review of the previous weekend’s game will air the following Monday.

This combined with even more behind-the-scenes footage – all filmed in widescreen HD – will keep Bomber.tv at the cutting edge. Bomber.tv vision will be available on demand or as a download for modern portable devices.

IN other news, the Club has opted not to renew its association with radio station Sport 927 in 2008, bringing an end to the Bomber Radio Show that had been airing for more than a decade.

The resources freed up will be used to further enhance the Club website which will now include additional audio content.

I think it is misleading or deceptive of the AFL to do this. The ordinary visitor, who got to bombersfc.com.au via the the AFL link would have no idea that they weren't on the official Essendon web site.

I cannot believe that Bigpond have not cottoned to this after so long. They just keep jamming more content , visuals and links with very shallow nagivation when most of the traffic knows where they want to go and rather negotiate the rhizome three times simply than to their messed up one.

Sorry to say this but does anyone think the new website is crap? I thought the reason for everyone hating the telstra run AFL websites and all the ones linking off it was because of all the flash crap. I go on to the efc new website its looks pretty much the same as the telstra run http://www.bombersfc.com.au/. The only difference between essendonfc.com and bombersfc.com is that stuff is mixed around. Hmmm, liked the old one better, ran faster and got the news I wanted then was straight off it. I'm hating all this snazzzy shite! Yeah fair enough they want to look professional and up with the times but the site before was the best out of all the AFL websites and now its just as crummy as the rest of them!

I think the website is good. It isn't slow at all for me, and I don't think my internet is anything quick. I am on a laptop though, no idea of screen size, so I don't see the Lloydy and Knighter thing but that doesn't matter, the rest looks good and I'm happy with it.
