Free Agency Brandon Ellis [Signs for Gold Coast, Richmond receive #39 compensation]

Never heard of him. What major stories has he broken?
Works for SEN. So journos quoting journos. Article also quoted a coach though, that was more interesting but not relevant to Brandon Ellis.

Works for SEN.

Ok so just a click bait type "journo" then.

Cheers
Yup.

We had a thread for fact checking this sort of stuff somewhere. I'll see if I can dig it up and we can quote Edmund in there to check later.

Most people in the football industry are now saying its 60% GWS 40% Hawthorn for Cogs.
It makes sence that the Blues would chase Ellis. Premiership winning wing that is only 26.
Why are you getting so defensive?
You should be happy a premiership wing wants to come to a bottom 4 club

Most people in the footy industry are still having a slice of each pie - GWS, Hawthorn, Carlton, "left field" option

100% won't be happening, our back ups for cogs is wines and crouch, Gray for papley, Martin is the only one without a known back up plan.

Almost certain the poster who told us 3 days out the Teague announcement would be Thursday last week put a line through Ellis, could be wrong but we don't have the currency to be trading for anyone else anyway even if cogs falls through the Adelaide pick will only be used on a papley, wines, crouch and our only 2nd we can trade will be involved in the Martin deal.

Ellis is a restricted free agent. No picks required ;)

Word on our board is he's Carlton bound.

Our ITK posters have mentioned a dozen players including grundy, none have said anything about Ellis.

Very much doubt we have even inquired, we get linked to all sorts of rubbish because we have cap space.

*Edit* Stand corrected he just got a mention so I guess you were right

He was linked to North since last year’s trade period. They just couldn’t get it over the line then. Their interest increased this year, and Scott was keen to get him to the Roos. But with the new coach, I’m not sure what their level of interest is. A 4 year deal was discussed earlier in the year and $$$ we’re surprisingly favourable but not finalised until he agreed.

Carlton have been in contact with his manager over the last few weeks and they have got to a point where contract is significantly better than the ones the Roos offered. There’s no guarantees at this time of year but this would probably be an offer too good for Ellis to refuse.

Unfortunately he won’t stay at the Tigers, but the compo will be decent, and see Naish as the player to step up to that wing position in 2020 for them anyway.

No, it's because the people who actually do get legitimate Carlton intel do not support this person's claims.
Just visit the North board from 2017 and have a look at how many "inside sources" had info about Martin going there.
Lets just wait and see what actually happens and not what someone is saying on BF haha

Hopefully he goes to North, really believe he would ruin our no dickhead policy.

Won’t come down to what you want.
Carlton have put forward a very strong offer.
Desperate to get rid of him much, 1 year 350k is definitely a strong offer for him and is still got to the club to protest.

At least that we can both agree we are desperate to not have him on either of our lists next year.

Not at all. I’d rather keep him on the list.

$350k would be closer to the mark to what Richmond would have for him.

North’s offer was significantly more than that at 4 years. And Carlton’s offer is superior to North’s offer. You guys back SOS in and it looks likely he’s going to get his man in this case.

The public will get a better idea of his contract when the compo comes in.
