Noticed that Matera was quiet against Geelong? So did I! It was already stated he'd miss this Saturday against West Coast, but didn't know why. Here's the reason.
Sucks it had to happen this week, but I'm sure he'll probably check in with the family anyways.
Good for him to have a break though. He's one of our few players that have played every game thus far. A 3 week break or so will do him the world of good, and set him up for a good run afterwards.
Hope he gets better soon!
But there is no doubt over Matera, who is a certainty to miss at least one week with a groin injury.
But after a blistering start to the season, Matera has succumbed to a groin injury and is set to miss a few weeks.
In a way his injury is timely given that he was due for a rest.
"He has had a really good start to his AFL career," Suns assistant coach Ken Hinkley said.
"Last week (against Geelong) was probably his quietest game though.
"It (his form) has been tapering because of the age of the young fella so when your form is tapering and the body is telling us he is probably struggling a bit, that is the time when you look to give them those rests."
