Libba is a bit of an issue IMO. He's an AA level inside mid but he certainly has his limitations in that he's slow on the spread and hasn't shown he can make any major impact outside of being a midfielder. Replacing Libba with Richards has transformed the look of our midfield overall for the better.

I'm in no way suggesting Libba should be booted from the midfield but if he's going to be in the side, it needs to be as a 70-80% midfielder which means someone has to make way. Does that help the team long term?
It was only two months ago that Libba went head-to-head with the next best contested ball winner in the league and thrashed him comfortably (vs. Rowell in Ballarat). It is absolutely true that pure speed at centre bounces has become a more necessary skill over the last few years, but it doesn't mean that you throw out the value of all other skillsets. It's not an issue at all.

Libba is going to explode when they let him back on the ground.

Bont had 19 contested possessions. Next most on the ground was 12.

We're so accustomed to best-on-ground performances from Bont (he's gotten 3 Brownlow votes 41 times, which is nuts when you consider that's from 112 H&A wins before this season, and 2 votes more often than he does 1) that some of his merely good games go unnoticed. Certainly, was the case when he was ridiculously left out of the 2022 All-Australian team (18.15 player ratings point average that season, 0.02 behind Oliver for 2nd, more than a whole point ahead of 3d average) for Connor Rozee (11.43 average, good for rank 94 on the season). Difference is that Bont only had two matches where he got the 3 Bronwlow votes, so people assumed he had a much worse season that he actually did.

Agree 7 votes is a bit surprising, I wouldn't say he had a better game than Treloar or Gulden personally, but not ridiculous.
