Champion data had him at pick 19. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...s-national-draft/story-fnp04d70-1227132202198

19. BRAYDEN MAYNARD (187cm midfielder)

Thrived drifting between midfield and half-back for Sandringham Dragons. Maynard averaged 22 disposals, four inside 50s, three clearances and slotted 15 goals from 17 matches.

WE SAY: His booming left foot biggest weapon but still needs to boost endurance. If Crows don’t reach at No.14 he will slot into the 20s.

Left-footed medium defender/midfielder with powerful kick. Has excellent evasive skills and rarely beaten one-on-one. Played three matches for Vic Metro in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, averaging 15 touches, five tackles and three clearances in three appearances. Recorded 26/30 in the kicking test at the NAB AFL Draft Combine.

Did well in Kicking Test:thumbsu:

Yeah, not sure about round one, but I share your enthusiasm. Endurance may take a bit longer.

Be played down back at the Start and then work into the Midfield when his Endurance picks up

I am rapt with his left leg and it appears to be a great weapon but is he like a few other running left footed HBs of recent times (BJ, Suckling) in that his right is poor?

Maybe some of the more regular U18 watchers could enlighten me as in one of the clips he kicked on his right and it looked to be a little dinky, uncomfortable looking effort. Hoping that it was just an anomaly and not the norm.

In his Highlights you seem once Kicking a Short pass to a Teammate on his Right

Yeah and it looked really un natural. It may have just been the circumstances that he found himself in at that time but are there any concerns there from the more educated draft watchers?

I say it something he will need to work on but better then BJ who had no Left foot what so ever

That's my question mark as well. It's amazing that players are still allowed to get away with not doing lots of practice on the other leg. [Don't know if this is the case for Brayden].

Is there any footage of Brayden being interviewed, or in his new Pies gear? Nothing up on the Pies website as yet.

Think I heard one of the draftees say they are expected to get into it Monday. I'd expect (like Dave has mentioned) that the club will put up some interviews and photo opps with the newbies early next week.

I guess that most of the People went to the Draft stayed for the Weekend to have some Rest Time after working hard the last week or so on the Draft.

That's right Maynard did post a really good result in the kicking test at the combine.

I assume the test covers both preferred and non preferred; so maybe it was just in that clip and the circumstance that his right looked unco.

That goes against most other write ups and his highlight package. Either everyone else is mistaken or that's a terrible write up. Not surprising considering the website...

Well - I read a few of those Write-Ups and they are Very Different to what I have also Read on other Bigger Sites

Does anyone have his testing results? I would be interested to see what his endurance results were.

I have no idea how you get them.

Think AFL and Clubs keep them Secret for some reason
