Who on our list that was available would have done a better job than Maynard last night? We've made a decision to play kids. Play them now. But it was the wrong decision because it's cost us games. There is no going back now the top 4 is gone.

Sam Dwyer has more experience when the game is on the line. Kennedy has been on the list for three years. Didn't play again. Hell Sinclair is a spud but has the experience over Maynard.Who on our list that was available would have done a better job than Maynard last night?

Dwyer has never played as a defender. Neither has Kennedy. Sinclair's best game has been about as good as what Maynard produced, plus he's building match fitness.
If any of those players had been chosen, you would have whinged about us playing VFL-standard "spuds" over promising young players like.... Maynard. Guess you get to have your whinge whatever way they go.
Maynard wasn't the issue last night. If anything, Moore was, and even then we outplayed Port for 3 quarters but werr coming from way back because they jumped us.

Not attacking Moore or saying he's no good, but we probably had one too many talls and he did by far the least. Understandable why thats the case, but would have been better to play BK or Shaz.I don’t think it was just Moore.
It was our Forward Line doing next to Nothing

The top three boys we drafted last year could make this a super draft for us, a 'foundation' draft. Very pleased with their progress. Expect JDG to play out the year in the seniors. Maynard is in danger of doing the same.Darcy maybe not, but his time will come.
No it's not. Nobody is saying Darcy won't be as good as those two, but he clearly needs more development to make an impact at senior level than they do. It's not a slight on Darcy, just a fact that pretty much no KPP's can walk in to a side in their first year like smaller players can.Bit early to put Moore Behind Maynard and De Goey.
But yeah this could turn out to be a Massive Draft for us

Mate, seriously.Bit early to put Moore Behind Maynard and De Goey.

At this point in time, Moore isnt fit to run drinks for De Goey & Maynard.
He'll be fine in time, but now is not that moment

Sam Dwyer has more experience when the game is on the line. Not good enough, in the magoos Kennedy has been on the list for three years. No tank and loses composure in seniors Hell Sinclair is a spud Top 22 player but has the experience over Maynard. Absolute future weapon
Just checked my afl app and its same as yours-no pictures for pies first year players-weird.I have no idea where to post this so I'll post it here:
After games I like to go on the afl ap and look at players stats, then check players season averages during the week for various reasons or just out of interest. Can't help but notice, and im curios to see if it's just my phone or the app, but Collingwoods first year players pics don't come up. every other player on every team is there apart from out first years.
Really hopefull that De Goey is never sub again and Maynard can keep his place for the rest of the season. Looking like a great draft for us, could challenge 2012 and 2008 as our best draft in recent years.
Excellent Post. Although I'm confused who it's in reply too. I assume it's the ignored one.Do you really think top 4 was a realistic goal? At the start of the year you predicted the Lions would beat us by 50 points. Now you are lamenting that we have forgone a possible top 4 position by playing the kids.
As Carlton and North Melbourne have shown in recent times one of the big mistakes a club can make is misread where your list is at. While some supporters and commentators have got excited about us this year, I am pretty sure Bucks and the footy department have not bought into this. The club sees this as a development year and while we will always be trying to win on game day, some of the selections will have more of an eye for the future than the game at hand.
Let's be honest Dwyer is not part of our future, Maynard looks promising and should have stayed in.Sam Dwyer has more experience when the game is on the line. Kennedy has been on the list for three years. Didn't play again. Hell Sinclair is a spud but has the experience over Maynard.

Collingwood, meanwhile, have re-signed young defender Brayden Maynard to a two year contract extension, tying him to the club until the end of 2018.
Taken at pick 30 in last year's draft, Maynard has played the past three matches since making his debut against Hawthorn in round 14.
Great news!!! Kid will be a gun! I was most excited about him after the draft. More so than De Goey and Moore. Stoked! That is Fantastic News
