Lock it in eddie! Goodyear not doing much but as a pick what? 48? Couldn't expect heaps. Wait and see!

goodyear one of the best 2 games ago. he has been going ok. I thought he was a chance to debut in the last 5 or 6 games but maybe he's feeling the pinch.

I have a mate who knows Goodyear's family quite well. I can report that he loves it at the club.

He has put on 7kg since being there and they want to put more weight on him but are doing it over time so as to not tax his body. He has been given different roles as part of his development and football education.

The only other thing mentioned is that he has found it exhausting and sleeps like a brick (this is not a knock at all -- but more just to show you what a big jump it is for these kids from juniors and something we should bear in mind).

kirby, he is from a good family. his dad is a pe teacher and nice bloke.

I thought he was one of our best along with Langdon. Nice to see our backline has a bright future.

and Good Users of the Ball Down There

I was picking him in our best 22 at the start of 2015, thought he was capable of doing a Tom Langdon and debuting in round 1 and playing out the season. Just looks ready made, solid size! Kicking will sharpen up as he matures, but we should be doing all we can to retain this kid and make sure he plays 200+ games for the Collingwood Football Club!

Well he is signed up to 2018

You already name the big show, do you have to get another?

Left-footed medium defender/midfielder with powerful kick. Has excellent evasive skills and rarely beaten one-on-one. Played three matches for Vic Metro in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships, averaging 15 touches, five tackles and three clearances in three appearances. Recorded 26/30 in the kicking test at the NAB AFL Draft Combine.
Townsville crocodiles 191cm guard and brother of Collingwood's Rhino Maynard is Corey Maynard.

Knightmare I see that you rated Maynard's first season pretty highly in reflection ( I see you had him at 24 in your 14-15 rankings). I know that our midfield is pretty deep adding Treloar and Aish, but can you see Maynard pushing for midfield minutes in the next couple of seasons? Obviously he endurance is still being worked on. Does he have the ability to break in? Cheers.

Maynard has the talent to become a midfielder and has that real hardness, tackling ability and strength over the ball, but he will need to improve his endurance first before a move to the midfield can be thought about.

With our deep midfield group will there be minutes for Maynard? It's possible in the future. And the same could be said for any of Scharenberg/Langdon/Williams also. So I'm not ruling it out, but with our need for some better players down back, that's where we need him to continue contributing for us over the next few seasons.

Thanks mate. I think that the HBF is a good fit for him for now too. I'm hoping his damaging kick really becomes a big weapon for us rebounding in the next couple of years.
