Good luck to Bruz whatever he chooses to do. He's going to be 30yo so anything over a 3 year contract is a risk. Norf would be silly to give any 30yo a 6 or even 5 year deal. I doubt we'll offer him any more than 3 years. I think he'll stay.

Rowell or DeKoning would work for me.

This was my first thought when I heard the rumour about Bruzzy.

God knows I don't want him to go but if he does, the compo is exactly what we need as a piece of any deal to get Matt Rowell to Collingwood. They mentioned on SEN that Rowell has had his offers in front of him for a while now and is weighing up his options.

Rowell would be the perfect midfield dance partner for Nick for a decade.

He's also a clean skin, super professonal who would fit in perfectly with lads like the Daicos boys, Houston and co.

Failing that, either Ed Richards to play midfield or SDK to play key back and relieving ruck. Rumour is that SDK is leaning towards signing back on though.

That's fair! I like the way Rowell could release Nick to be first or second receiver more often and take physical pressure off him.

My doubt on the story is the poster to be honest.
Without going over old ground too much, Bruzzy was pretty effusive about us early on.
Then his wording changed, (after being worded up by his agent no doubt).
Then the big offer from North resurfaced, (been mentioned they had a crack last year).

Just watched Gettable and while Twomey says a fresh offer hasn't been made by North since last year (that he's aware of) he also thinks that it would be less than a million and max 4 years.

Surely our offer wouldn't be so far below that as to seriously tempt Bruzzy to leave.

A 5 or 6 year deal for a 30yo is going to be hard to knock back. I doubt we'll offer him 5 years. I just have a feeling that he's going to sign a 2 or 3 year deal with us and then reassess after that

That deal is going to be so hard to knock back. He's played his guts out for us. I can't begrudge him setting up a future for himself
