Cal Twomey said Norff are not offering $1m a season. More like 850
We won’t be offering 450…
Sam Edmund said North were offering a 1mill for four years and a trigger for a fifth.

I heard Maynard agreed in principle to a deal we were offering and then went back to re-negotiate after North upped their offer by an extra 200k per year.

We stood our ground and kept it at our offer- thinking it is around 800k

Your first two words discredited the rest

No issue with him trying to get a bit more - but never seemed like he would be the sort to chase money ahead of playing footy where he loves. Bruz seems about as loyal as you see. His teammates are his brothers. He loves the club. This is a true heart and soul player.

If he does end up leaving us, which seems less and less likely now by reports, I will be absolutely shocked!

I agree with what you say but if he was offered something like 250K per year more it would be very hard to turn down.
Football career is so limited, it can be cut short out of nowhere with injuries.
Just hope the club makes him a good and fair offer, he signs the contract and we can breathe easily.

:)

Absolutely. Most of us would be pretty bloody pleased with 250k per year period, let alone that being the annual difference between salaries! As you say, careers in this industry are short, and it's going to be very hard for most footballers to make anywhere near this kind of coin doing something else.

All that said, he is staying a Pie for life. Those nonsense North offers of $1m+ a year are just that - nonsense

Not looking good to stay have our wrong team managing it.

There is no mention of mismanagement anywhere in that article about Maynard or his contract talks with the club just that Maynard and Macrae are both managed by the same people.

I fail to to see the correlation of the wrong team managing it and them both having the same manager if anything you would think it will make a stronger case to stay rather than leave.

They've just cherrypicked bits of what Fly said at the presser.

It was a joke on the typo they may have corrected it now check the screenshot I took from when I read the article.

I agree but waving huge dollars must make a player think?

The reality is Maynard would only ever contemplate a move if it's an offer to good for anyone to refuse.

Even then his heart wouldn't be in it if it's a choice between us and North.

As long as we don't offer up something that's insulting to his standing within the team and club then I'm confident he'll stay.
