He’s a gem. His dedication to the task and passion for the club and his team mates stands out a mile. We’ve got some classy young men stepping up to take us forward Bruzzy included.

I’ve always loved how he goes about it. He reminds me a bit of Darren Millane. He’s got a bit of Heath Shaw about him too. I’ve always been a fan. Long may he be a pie.

"Joel Selwood"... notes... his whole body from just above his knees is head, ducks at every opportunity.
Hit anyway.

"Toby Greene" My bitch. Loves it from behind. Wear eye protection.

Are we gonna see a new comic spawned? 🤞🤙

Not sure I could ever better the Chronicles.
Anvil was a one of a kind.

He gave great material. Loved the "eat your soul" morning footy show edition. Classic.

I had great fun doing that.
Every week he just "manifested" more content.
Best fun was the "old spice" ad rip off... "I've got a cup!
LOL
2010 was a special time on the Pies board too.
A long time coming.

How important has he become?

I said a long time ago in this thread, I wouldn't recognise him if I met him.

He is now almost in our top 10 players.

I was amazed to read that he's played 96 games seems like yesterday we got him he really is underrated by all except for us and I get the feeling that's just how he likes it

I made that comparison several years back when he was a whipping boy for a dozen or so posters. At that time I got howled done by all bar about 3 posters. I’m still thinking that I might have actually got one right for a change. Funny though, I always think of Bruzzy as a short to medium size player and thus I thought he was a bit short to fully develop into a Millane style player, then I read that he is 189cm (6’ 2 &1/2”). I know that Pants was 5’ 11 & 1/2” (a Collingwood 6 footer, as they were known back in the day. Is it just my long term lionised hero worship of L G Pants or was he a lot more powerfully built in the upper body than Bruzzy ( or most other AFL players for that matter?

Taking a leaf out of the Anvil's book.

Champ.

I know this is off topic, but does anyone remember the time that Anvil had Shaun Hampson (or was it Sam Jacobs?) by the shirt and stared him down?

Hampson was obviously annoyed and tried to show strength by repeatedly punching him in the hand with obvious effort. Did Anvil let go? Nosiree! He just grinned at him.

Was beautiful.

It was Robby Warnock and the clip on youtube is called "leigh brown death grip".

I think he continued his steady development this year. His brain fades seem to happen less now, and he always does a good job on his opponent. Defensively, our back 7 were solid during the finals.

With Quaynor and Noble coming on, I wonder if it is time to get some midfield minutes into Maynard. He can play a man, and he is a bull at a gate for the footy. Great size too and really strong. Plus, his foot skills going inside 50 are usually pretty good. He is at the age now where it might be time to make that step. He played midfield in r23 against Melbourne 2017, and was pitted against Oliver. He did a great job on him, and was damaging with the ball...but trailed off later due to fatigue. Was a big factor we won that day. The word was in 2018 he was training to be a midfielder, but it never eventuated.

Both Maynard and Crisp should move into the mids
I’d rather we find other options, both were borderline AA(Maynard to a lesser extent) and were a massive reason why we had one of the leagues best backlines.

If we're looking to improve (within our means) then we have to use what we have in different ways. I take your point that both boys had great years (again) but when we're being overrun by bigger stronger mids, both of them offer speed and straight line run from the mids and both have the advantage of turning onto their left boots to deliver to leading forwards (like the Hawthorn mids did and still do)

100%

Obsession with shifting players excelling in existing positions is nauseating.

Normally I’d agree with you, but I was at a coaches presentation a few months ago when Harvey said he wanted Crisp for the midfield but was battling to get him out of defence.
