Player Watch Brayden Maynard

Gifted games every week, never really played in the reserves for two and a bit years and doesn't produce in the senior team. How much longer can that go on? Yes he has up side I've heard of Luke Hodge claims and I simply don't see it.

With all due respect mate - you have myopia on many issues relating to the club, as has been pointed out to you many times, so your view on Maynard is no surprise.
I'll give you are very sobering and relevant comparison, BJ , he was a dud defender with poor disposal until reach around 40-50 games,
Don't you remember cringing everytime he went near the ball in the early days?
Maynard is very similar and shows the same potential as BJ - he will be a very good player.
And Sinclair is also a more recent example - a dud when he first started according to you and many others, and now those same people have changed their mind and believe he is in our best 22.

The hard as a cats head is a myth.

Refer my post above for replacements.

By the way I think he will come good but needs to be dropped IMO.
started your Bigfooty farewell tour I see Farnsy

Yes Maynard needs to earn his stripes now hes had the games pumped into him. Looking like another Langdon to me at this stage.

Farnsy even pulled on his dancing shoes last night Doodles. Good to hit a dance floor and feel like a 20 year old again. :D

I think he will be better than Langdon but we can't afford his brain farts at the SCG next week.

With all due respect mate - you are the Kelly-Ann Conway of our board. You deal in alternative facts based on unicorns and rainbows that only you can see in the ether of the horizon. Bit rich you calling someone else mypopic when it comes to how they view issues relating to the club and players.

:thumbsu: see you at schoolies on the Gold Coast

I'm just not confident we will ever be able to get the fart gland out of Maynards brains

Here's an idea sunshine - how about you give me some specific facts that I have distorted.
Off you got mate - that should keep you occupied for the next 5 years going through my posts
I'll save you the head ache - You will not find any.
There's a difference between being able to see the wood from the trees as I do and wallowing in a "wow is me, the club is stuffed" attitude like so many here including yourself.

If you have a problem with getting a reality check, based on FACTS that I constantly provide here, then maybe stick to the main board.

PS: Please tell me what were the alternative facts re BJ and Sinclair in the post that prompted the insult.

Blair has gone backwards that is fact.

As for Maynard.......straight swap Shaza. It's not like Maynard is quick anyway. The sooner Sinclair is back the better. I would even prefer Aish in Maynard's position to be honest.
Maynard is pretty quick by foot just really slow by brain. He is a chronic ball watcher and is almost always a key reason the "zone" gets run through and over easily. Generally it is his man that gets out the back first. He has some really good attributes but needs several weeks in the magoos understanding the concept (and being coached in the concept) of Team Defence. He is the worst culprit thus his lack of intercept numbers. Can't read the cues. If he can get his IQ up he will be a super player.

Spot on jdpie.

And for all that how do you explain we only lost by 14 points to the reigning premiers
Simple. We had nearly all the stars on the ground in the mid field who just kept pumping the ball into our forward line. The Bulldogs were an even team. They compensated for our weaker players. And then there was our accurate disposal versus our inaccuracy and ineptitude. Maybe it is not so much the players but a frustration with the game plan or players out of position. Perhaps we have some guys who just need to find form and fitness but really once they are on the ground there is no excuse.

And Dame Melly Melba. And a reminder about Blair, the man who was going to .... but didn't.

Dumb footballers TGG...........sorry but it is fact.

Two examples (I have many more including Maynard)

WHE's kick across the ground!

White's 50 metre penalty!

Both resulted in goals the other end.

very much in the Aish, Broomy,Degoey, group that need to improve this year.
Pretty much this:

Aish - needs to lift bad. With such poor ball users being our best guys this season, we desperately need Aish to get more of the pill and use it well. Whilst Wells is on the pine, we need him to do so much more. He also needs to hit the gym and stop being so afraid of other footballers. How such a weak kid went so high in the draft is really beyond me.

Broomhead - absolutely no pressure on him imo. Just needs to do his job and deliver 1-3 goals each week. But he needs to do more to earn the pill himself, not just receive the sloppy handpass every so often. Needs to support himself more.

De Goey - needs to get his shit together off the field, and keep working hard on the field. I'm going to blame the stunting of hiw growth on the coaching staff though for the failure of playing him in the middle. He's the inside bull we need. He could be a splendid player.

Maynard - has crazy high potential but just lacks confidence. As far as rebounding defenders go, I think he's the full package. Needs to use the ball a lot better and stop throwing it on the boot under pressure. Scan your options and make your decision.

Crisp I also will throw in here - probably under the most pressure to improve the way I see it. The only thing he's done in the last 15 months is receive some handpasses on the wing and just throw it on the boot. When he's not doing that, he's useless and when he does do it, he's still bloody useless. Where did the Crisp of 2015 go?

I was wrong.......he let us down and more importantly his Coach.

A lot of coach killer performances on Thursday night.

I had a sick feeling in my stomach all day Friday from that performance.
Luckily last night at the Night Club I had the "medicine" to help me move on.

By the way not directed at you but a lot of poison has been posted on here since the loss

After seeing the Bulldogs V Swans game I think what we dished up against the Tigers was a slip up.
It will be interesting to see how we respond this week.

We will go in underdogs clearly by we will need to show a lot more than this week if we don't get within 4-5 goals this will quickly unravel for Bucks.

Hope the team can deliver as I hope it can turnaround for the club and Bucks.

People are angry CFC2010. There have been some nasty comments, but after the pre season clean out of the worst of our poor disposers. our atrocious delivery and goal kicking has come as a bit of a shock. Posters thought the worst of those guys had gone and instead we seem to be worse. Then watching Cloke kick goals and play a team role for the Bulldogs is just rubbing salt in the wounds. I can't see the coaches, selectors and recruiters wriggling out of this 2 game deficit in a hurry.

By years end, we won't be discussing whether he's in our best or whether he needs to improve. He'll be a lock in the 22.

Of course, providing he stays fit.

I get the anger and that's why I did the Dame Melly Melba as you put it.

By the way the bolded part above is spot on.
It saddens me to be honest because I don't blame Bucks for our two losses this year........I know many do and that's fair enough but I don't.

Maynard is the least of our worries... Has a crack and is one of our only decent kicks.
Typical THATSGOLD bump.

Well you haven't even left so can hardly claim to be Farnsy or Melbs at this stage. I think the buck stops with Bucks and those who surround him and selected and recruited the players, and those who coach them each week. Maybe individual players are at fault, but how many individuals can you blame before you consider them as a collective?

I get what your saying.

I blame Blair for last week..........just like I blame the misses from Fasolo, Mayne, Moore, Treloar and even Pendles against the Tigers.

Bad kicking is bad football unfortunately Bucks has to carry the can as you put it.

With all due respect Spinny. You are either employed to ceaselessly sprout support and spin excuses for everything that has happened at the club in the last 5 years, and attack those who think otherwise, or you are insane. I don't see a third option if you are a genuine Collingwood supporter.

Fair enough
Amazing it wasn't 74 points

Oh well we are just the worst ever

Why do people have a go at No spin if he is polite.
Why can't he see things in a different light?

That he's positive, I think that fine.
Why does he have to join the mob.

I think it's good there are all sorts on here, from polar opposites to middle range views.

Ofcourse as long as people are reasonably polite, why not
