Accordingly to Doc Larkin, the recovery for his injury is anywhere from 2-6 weeks. If a clean snap, on the lower end of the scale, if a partial tear, then the higher end.

Found that interesting as l thought it would be much much longer.
Yep, that's the general consensus.

Below is from Google with an explanation, so who knows how accurate, but I'm sure the physio's etc on here would know for sure.

Ruptures:
A rupture is a complete tear of the plantar fascia, meaning the tissue is fully separated. This can be more easily diagnosed and treated, leading to a more predictable recovery timeline.

Tears/Strains:
A tear or strain is a partial damage to the plantar fascia. These can be more subtle, with pain developing gradually, and the healing process can be more complex and potentially longer.

I find that difficult to believe, given feet are integral to sport performance as they bear the weight of the person as well as controlling balance and motion. Not good for Maynard and with hindsight, probably would have been better to sign a deal prior to this setback.

How do your qualifications compare to Larkin's MBBS, BMedSc (Hons), FASMF, FACSP, FSMA, FFSEM(UK)?

Do we know if Maynard’s foot needs surgical repair?

If it’s the worst and he’s out for the season (hopefully not, but memories of Dane Swan’s foot injury) then I guess we’ll know in the next 24 hours ahead of the MSD.

Dane Swan's injury (Lisfranc fracture) was much, much worse

I didn’t think we knew anything about Bruzzies injury yet? Apart from it was something to do with the foot and that it has been labelled “plantar fasciitis” …

… which is Latin for “I hurt my foot”.

This is what has been revealed so far. I guess scans will reveal the severity.

Clearly you haven’t paid much attention then.

Wouldn't Maynard need surgery if he's suffered a full tear?

Seems remarkable that an injury in a weight bearing part of the body could heal itself successfully if it's totally separated.

The terminology is all a little confusing with one report suggesting he might only need to miss one game. Surely not?

To be honest, time, rest and an off season hasn't stopped it causing him grief, so I was hoping it would be a case of him doing enough damage that a different medical route would have to be taken, with a positive outcome of no continued pain.

What was that injury Robert Harvey was dealing with when he famously jumped off a table to finally snap it?
