Seems Cook is the most popular surname among the 249 players to have played at least 1 game for our club.

Four Cooks, and I assume none related.

If Brayden can win a Brownlow vote then this automatically assures him being the greatest ever Cook (for the Crows).

And for the record, I think he will end up with at least a few Brownlow votes.

The late, great Matt Price said Clive Waterhouse ran like he stole something.

Myke Cooke played AFL liked he’d been kidnapped from Scandinavia, flown to Australia blindfolded and plonked in the middle of the ground without any instructions. Rabbit in the headlights doesn’t do it justice.

But Brayden, now there’s a talent. His U18 highlights are a dream, exciting times if he can replicate some of that stuff.

Amazing thing with Cook is that in his junior and SANFL time he has been played around goals and appears a natural, but we have played him more as a pure wing or high half forward away from the goals in AFL. In contrast Berry is a pure mid and we have played him close to goal......

Oh AFC!!!

There is more value in a good winger compared to a good half forward. Nor should pre-draft positions be taken all that seriously.

Berry will move into the midfield in a year or two. This year was likely just "put him somewhere in the lineup and get games into him" kind of deal, seeing he did have his U18 season wiped out due to COVID. Even out of position, playing AFL football does more good for a players development then playing SANFL.
