Pros: handy if we need help delivering a calf or lamb.

Cons: no one else on this forum is old enough to have watched A Country Practice.

Penny!

Died from cancer three years ago... that's crap.

What a ******* top-class show. Molly! :'(:'(:'(:'(

Seems Cook is the most popular surname among the 249 players to have played at least 1 game for our club.

Four Cooks, and I assume none related.

If Brayden can win a Brownlow vote then this automatically assures him being the greatest ever Cook (for the Crows).

And for the record, I think he will end up with at least a few Brownlow votes.

I remember A Country Practice. Speaking of good shows the final season of Wentworth starts tonight. Been waiting 12 months for this masterpiece of aussie tv.

The late, great Matt Price said Clive Waterhouse ran like he stole something.

Myke Cooke played AFL liked he’d been kidnapped from Scandinavia, flown to Australia blindfolded and plonked in the middle of the ground without any instructions. Rabbit in the headlights doesn’t do it justice.

But Brayden, now there’s a talent. His U18 highlights are a dream, exciting times if he can replicate some of that stuff.

Amazing thing with Cook is that in his junior and SANFL time he has been played around goals and appears a natural, but we have played him more as a pure wing or high half forward away from the goals in AFL. In contrast Berry is a pure mid and we have played him close to goal......

Oh AFC!!!

There is more value in a good winger compared to a good half forward. Nor should pre-draft positions be taken all that seriously.

Berry will move into the midfield in a year or two. This year was likely just "put him somewhere in the lineup and get games into him" kind of deal, seeing he did have his U18 season wiped out due to COVID. Even out of position, playing AFL football does more good for a players development then playing SANFL.

IS BRAYDEN ABOUT TO COOK?

Ever since Brayden Cook landed at the Crows in the 2020 draft, Adelaide coaches have said he can be a serious player, but is just extremely raw.

He’s played 12 games for the Crows in three seasons but the versatile 21-year-old could be one to watch for Adelaide this summer.

He has packed on the muscle to his 191cm frame and has Burgess excited about what he could do in his fourth season.

“Cooky has returned in really good shape and that was an area he had to work on because he is really raw,” Burgess said.

“This is his third or fourth pre-season in his life, people think of him being a 22 or 23-year-old but he is a bit younger than that from our point of view.

“I hope so, it probably has been the part of his game that needs a bit of worth the robustness and resilience so I hope the work he has done over the past couple of years will stand him in good stead for 2024.”
Let Him Cook!!

Brayden has a fair way to go to overtake Troy as the greatest of all time.
