Now, I have a $200 bet with your mother on this, why is a Brazilian Wax, called a 'Brazilian'?

I say it's because of two reasons:
i. the actual wax traditionally used, is a product of Brazil
ii. at Rio Carnivale time (Mardi gras) the chicks wear skimpy bikini's etc and have to be waxed for the occassion, hence the term Brazilian

The other side claims it's known as a Brazilian because:
i. of the saying 'Bald as Brazil nut', which quite frankly I think is absurd and have never heard of it.

So, what do you say? Am I $200 richer?

Charlie I'm quite impressed with that call! :p

From memory (and girlie mags) it originated with the brazillian dancing chicks who decided that the fuzz just didn't looks so hot poking out of their skimpy little gstrings etc and realised if they could bikini wax, they could just go the whole hog and whip off all the fuzz and be hair free. Apparently the trend is over now though...

It is called a Brazilian wax because the first time it was done was in a salon in New York that was owned and run by Brazilian sisters. Simple as that!

And your proof is? Or is it like the 'bald as a brazil nut' statement? I'm not having a go, I just need proof.

Give me 200 bucks and I'll get it done. As for proof.....

Now if Howard or Latham ran on a mandatory Brazilian Wax platform....

On a more serious note, I've given a Brazilian wax or more accurately a shave and I can seriously recommend it. :)

XXXX is when there is not a single hair left, sometimes its called a hollywood.

Most girls have a XXX which leaves a little on the top. Brazilian waxing is more popular than ever, I don't know too many girls who don't have them done.

I can't actually prove it. But it was started in a salon in New York run by some sisters from Brazil. Their surname was Padilha! It's a true story.

Actually I won't be around much after today for awhile either. I am off to Paris tomorrow. A first wedding anniversary present. Mmmmm, all that French champagne!

The local stuff is better.

It's like Star Trek: The Next Generation.. although superior, it will never be as widely recognised as the original.

Enough movie quotes, have a good one :)
