It's also saying something that that is the worst thing he's done. Let's not forget he poisoned a kid.
We watched S01 to the last ep over 4 weeks in Jan and that gives a great view of the story arc from sympathetic hero to antihero by the end....to flip back to the sympathetic hero would be an astonishing turn in only 8 eps.

I have a question after reading the last few pages

Why is it that people even after multiple viewings still like Tony Soprano yet dislike Walter White?

They have both done terrible things
I think Tony started out as a flawed bad guy who just did what needed to be done for the 'family' even if it was unsavoury. Walt has become an egomaniac who is solely interested in self glorification at any cost.

How Tony was viewed was how Walt started out, doing bad things with good intentions but the good intentons went out the window a long time ago & now its all self serving.

I think it's the shock of seeing an ordinary guy like you and me turning into what he has, especially with the kid killing. Soprano was always some John Gotti like guy.

Think either Jesse or his wife will kill him in the act of saving someone else (Hank?). Walt Jnr could also feature (as killer or saved.

Further to that point, in the beginning, we could all relate to Walt on a personal level. No matter who we are or what our situation is like in life, we can sympathize with a man trying all they can to provide for their family. Add to that, he has cancer and is dying, we can't help but warm to him. We all would think that we could possibly see the justification for his actions and understand his reasoning. No one is getting hurt, other than those who are all ready addicts. We don't relate to them or value their emotional issues as much, so it all make sense.

He starts to change and we still follow his justifications for one off acts that allow him to continue his path because of his family situation, but he doesnt stop. What is interesting is reading when it all changed for individuals. When they decided that he was starting to turn bad.

The writing for this show has been brilliant and a joy to watch unfold. I can't wait to see how this plays out.

Getting giddy every time I see the promo for it on Foxtel.

"WW...Walter White?"
*smirks, hands up "You got me..."

Am I the only one not 100% sure that Walt poisoned the kid? Sure it looks bad, bit I wasn't totally convinced at the time. First scene of season five was so epic, hair, cough, fake name, out of state plates, lily of the valley, **** off gun. How??!!!

He definitely did it, the writers of this show are so good at subtle hints along that are so inconspicuous but when you look back it's so obvious that they were there for a reason.

There is no way they would of had Jesse name the plant and then focus on the plant and have Walt thrown it out if Walt didn't do it

The way Jesse originally believed it to happen was how it actually happened. When the security guard padded him down and replaced the ricin with a substitute, etc. Jesse was actually 100% correct. Walter backed himself to convince him otherwise when Gus allowed the kids to get killed previously.

Yeah I get that, it's just that my first thought when I saw the Lily of the Valley in Walt's backyard was "red herring?". But then it turned up again in the first scene of season five, so I guess that kind of removes all doubt. Don't want to believe it!!!

I don't dislike Walt's current persona at all, the man is getting shit done. If anything, Jessie is the one I'd like to see get topped. His loyalty to Fring never sat well with me.

I didnt even think there was doubt Walt poisoned the kid

I'm still on Walts side though, I'm still in the empire business with him, want him to build to bigger and better things.
