Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, couldn't find it

Feels like if we are to make finals we are going to need a couple of the young lads to have a breakout year. At least some kids that become best 22 locks.

The most obvious one would be James Aish, recapturing that early form - theres no reason to think he cant be an elite player. To think how many matches we might have won last yearwith better ball use. If he could produce on the outside what Adams did inside in 2015 then....

On a similar note Tim Broomhead is an obvious one if he can get his body right. He does sometimes go missing at AFL level but feels like he just needs a good run of game time to be a factor in our 2016 success.

Who have you got on your list?

De Goey, Moore, Grundy, Witts, Cox, Maynard, Broomhead, Fasolo, Marsh and Ramsay are those I'm expecting to see breakout seasons from of those who were on the club list in 2015.

My guess is degoey to continue his impressive start to his career, and the likes of Moore, Broomhead and Aish to cement a spot in the 22 will go along way to us making the 8. The young guys stepping up is the key.
Would have loved to be able to say scharenberg in this but that will just have to wait till 2017.

I'll be taking De Goey into my SuperCoach side this year with the hope he has a breakout year!

Broomhead needs to, there's a lot of hype on this board for Broomy without really any impressive stretch of games.

Treloar. I hope he breaks Cripps in two when they play.

I wouldn't mind Witts going around and ripping new aholes for people too. Would be even better if he could dominate as an AFL player too.
Cripps is a monster. Wouldn't count on anyone breaking that kid in two. Only mid on our list who even comes close to his size is Wills imo. (Obviously Pendles is a similar size too but too much silk there to be trying to break other players).

I only mentioned those who were at the club last year.

Aish can improve through. Still young, still not established. So like the others Aish is yet another you'd expect to improve.

What makes this side Exciting is the Players you Named that still have a fair bit of Improvement in them:D

They're all young and all developing players who all have the scope to improve. So this season is as good as any for all those guys to elevate their games.

There a lot who could step up. The ones who really excite me are those I see as having the ability to become A graders in their careers. Those would be

De Goey. Will continue to step up and influence us, may not be ready for that true break out, see 2017

Elliott - Had the game now needs the consistency to have an influence like a Breust, Betts or even Wingard.

Fasolo - Has shown a fair bit, injury has been the main thing holding him back. 2nd half of 2015 he showed he is ready to launch into a big 2016 if fully fit

Grundy - Reckon he may be ready to take a big step forward this season

Sidebottom - For plenty of reasons he has never put together an A grade season, he has it in him, Will he deliver, no better chance than 2016

Aish - Think he is a gem who can be much more than he was at Brissie

Crisp - Surprised in 2015, now needs to consolidate and continue the ascent, does that and A grade beckons.

Moore - See De Goey

There are others like Marsh, Witts, Maynard who are more unknown but have potential big upside. If we can snag 3-4 A graders out of the group, see Swanny hang in for a while, Pendles recapture his best and Cloke and Reid get back near their best we are a very different proposition.

Treloar is A grade but a tremendous in and Williams doesnt need to break out just continue his steady rise to be vital also. Gee a lot of reasons why we can be better

I be very Surprised IF that Happens. White 27-28 so I can't see him just having a Massive Season
I feel with White finally being able to play the position he was originally meant to be playing, theres no reason why he can't. If White plays the third tall and ruck releif for either Witts/Grundy, we're a better team for it than playing both those two lumberjacks, our forward line is much more potent, and with Cloke, Howe, Moore, Elliot all roaming around up forward White could become the 4th/5th worry for oppositions, which would mean a 30+ goal season for Jesse White.

Elliott, Adams, Sidebottom, Broomhead and Langdon will have career best years I feel. Grundy too, but I don't think Brodie will have a breakout year, just incremental improvement.

Without doing the whole "list half the team thing", if I had to pick just 2 players that would make a WORLD of difference to our side if they were to have legitimate breakout years:

1) Brodie Grundy - I'm not saying his first two years weren't good. They were. They were as good as you could expect of a 19/20 year old ruckman who didn't grow up playing our game. I love him and think he's going to be fantastic. But it's hard to argue he's had a breakout season. It's also hard to argue he is a legitimately good ruckman yet. I think if he can refine his craft further as well as becoming a danger up forward, he could help our team, but more specifically our MIDFIELD hugely.

2) Darcy Moore - I know, I know, he's only young and big guys take time. But don't forget, Travis Cloke won our B&F at 20 years old in only his 3rd season. I'd argue that Darcy has already showed a bit more than Cloke did in in HIS first season. Darcy having a breakout year helps take pressure off Cloke by providing us a 200 plus cm target that can kick straight. It should be obvious to anyone how important a breakout year from Darcy would be to us

So yeah, I think these two guys having a genuine breakout year could take us to the next level as a team.
