Adams I consider as already broken out given he averaged 27.4 disposals per game last year. He can improve, but his improvement will be more in specific areas - improvement at stoppages, more effective forward of centre - maybe scoreboard impact, more of a marking target, maybe clean up his footskills etc.
(without putting words into peoples mouths) I reckon ppl who suggest Adams will have a break out year mean more in terms of recognition.
Personally, I am a very big fan of what Tay brings to the club (and acknowledge he still has a number of areas of improvement), but know that most don't see him the same way as me.
I reckon he's not too far from being an A-grade mid, and I think this year he could jump ahead of Sidey and Swanny in being in our most important 2 or 3 mids (depending on where Treloar fits in).... but that's just my opinion.
If he can improve some of those areas you mentioned then I see no reason why he can't make that jump and have that type of "breakout" year.

I wanna see Broomhead have a "breakout" year... Be healthy and maintain consistent form/improvement and should cement himself in our best 12-16 and avoid being rotated out.

I want Reid to "break-back-in".

Of the youngsters - hopefully Maynard has a Williams-esque jump, and takes advantage of Scharenburg being out the season... and ditto for Marsh (I reckon as 3rd tall defender/rebound guy... or as 2nd tall, with Reid playing more loose man).

Breakout seasons will occur on different levels.

Sidebottom - Will become that A Grade player he's threataned to be over the past few years.
Fasolo - Now that he's had a couple of seasons unimpeded he will become a contested marking forward who can crumb. A poor man's Medhurst circa 08.
Grundy/Witts - both will improve and with that and the abolition of the sub rule, will become that scary ruck duo we've been waiting for them to be.
Broomhead - I'm not as confident as a breakout season as the others mentioned but he has the talent to be a very good footballer this year.
Moore - Will be recognized as an elite young talent and bona fida the best kid from his draft, a scary good talent he'll prove himself to be.
Ramsay - Could be penciled in off half back this year, the potential that we saw at the start of last year is there.
DeGoey - Will be recognized as a hard nut young up and coming player, a mixture of Hodge and Selwood he and Moore will be considered the best two picks of 2014.

And break out years will also happen for

Aish, Treloar and Howe, because I haven't seen them for more than a passing glance so far to date, it'll be great to watch immediate talent that I have not even really sat down and watched for at least a quarter. I don't notice these guys in games against Collingwood either as I'm too busy watching Collingwood. Really looking forward to watching these guys.

Please correct me if there's something I'm missing, but wouldn't the abolition of the sub rule mean you're even LESS likely to go in with 2 traditional ruckmen?

Before, you could go in with 2 ruckmen and sub one out for some run if you needed it. Now that you can't sub one out, you'd be stuck with 2 ruckmen for the whole game if it isn't working.

Ben Reid. Sure he's already an established, very good player, but with 2 years of persistent injury, he's as good as a new player for us this year. I've been to 4 training sessions through November, December and January. Reid has been on the park for all of them. His kicking has been sublime at training today, it will make it so much easier for us to rebound this season. Fingers crossed his legs hang in there and he gets a good run at it.

Two rucks will be back in vogue with the abolition of the sub rule as a lot of footy pundits have suggested, one can float in the forward line and or rotate off the bench.
