will be interesting to see how we go next year. Another pre-season under Bolton and what improvements there will be? Will the players react similar to this year and but in 100%, you'd hope so.

But it all comes down to the draft and trade period. what do we bring in and who do we lose? Hopefully trade for a couple of our needs (another key back, speed in midfield and a small forward) Then slowly transition blokes who wont be there in 2 or 3 years time for the youth.

BB was on 3AW tonight. He was so bland. They got him on him to talk about (really to talk up) Carlton's unexpected victory which put an end to the fairy tale end to Roo's tenure at the Demons. He gave nothing away, like NOTHING, and sounded like a classic piece of vanilla ice cream - not even one choc chip!

He, Everitt and Weitering, should be booked in for consciousness raising over the summer break.

Nah, sacking is the only thing that will fix it.

Seriously I have watched Everitt over this season, especially after the siren when we have won. He is very introverted and seemingly lacking in confidence. I think that affects his performance on the field. Anyone dare to agree? If so, how can the coaches coax him out of his shell? He definitely has ability. A good coach should be able to unlock it.

When we first started playing him he was so dependable to win the ball and have to kick set shots at goal, now he seems to have gone out into the wilderness. I dont think confidence is an issue with Everitt (he has a blackbelt which you dont get without a certain level of confidence), also we have some acute introverts on our list who still seem to be able to play and inspire by their actions (Murph, Kreuz), but I now get the feeling that Everitt is playing off his name for $$ and doesn't really give much of a stuff about AFL football. Hope I'm wrong.

Well if he is playing off his name for $$$ he is very foolish, something which he will realise later on in life. He should be pushing himself to the max now as a talented footballer, as an investment for later in life.

You are right about us having a fair share of introverts. In fact post Fev name the extrovert!!!

He has shown at all 3 clubs that he has the skills to play at the top level, he was looking like regular 22 at the swans when we got him, but you have to wonder why he keeps losing his spot and getting traded.

Does this form of martial arts cater to Dre's preference of not wanting to make any contact with an opponent?

Good. That's exactly what I want from him. I want us to bury Essendon on Saturday and whilst enjoy the victory over the Dee's, I want them to be ruthless against our old dirty foe and not get ahead of ourselves..........like I did after the Geelong victory.

My guess is bolts knows our list has a long way to go still and that's why he's not really talking up the odd victory yet.

I'm reading Ange Postecoglou's book at the moment about his efforts to change (the other) football in Australia. In one chapter he talks about coaching South Melbourne at 30 years old and how he had to engage and drag the entire club including the board and supporters to change culture to win back to back titles.

As I am reading it his thoughts on leadership and the role of a coach are outstanding, it was an inspired choice to have him on the selection panel for the Carlton senior coach position. It has probably made me trust the selection of bolts even more.

Ange was photographed at our training during the week, his continued involvement could be a great things for Bolton's development as a coach and for the club's culture more generally.
