And this is where I take issue. Absolutely regressive line of thought. Complaints based in reality have merit.

You're going back to 'we are Carlton, **** the rest'
Nope. Never said you couldn't. If you want to whinge and complain that's your right

Just that IMO it's BS and based on absolutely no reality, facts or merit

You’re taking that personally what Soapy is saying ‘internally’ the club is happy with the direction & will stick with it.

So what you're saying is you will come back when you can whinge and complain?
I'm basically being told not to say anything critical of the club until some arbitrary grace period is over in 2019. I like discussing sports, I don't like it when discussion is a one way street.

This board, man...

Maybe instead of the 66 game rebuild it should of been 88 tbh. I would want to see improvement by middle of next year if we are going to get into the 8 by 2020. My concern is how do we get the best FA players to our club if these types of players are looking at Bolts game plan and not liking what they see. I am pleased to know that the playing group in a happy one because that is the most important thing to be happy in your work place. I know this all to well. I know I should watch the whole game to the end but I get annoyed and switch off.

It seems to me the word 'rebuild' is being used more than ever as the reason or excuse for our performances this year. Bolton wants us to be patient while we wait for the players he believes will grow and transform over time into the team we want.

We have turned over the list and many players are young and inexperienced but maybe the supporting people (coaches, trainers, etc) should be leading from the front by taking some responsibility for our poor performances/injuries, too.

If our young players are not doing the things they should on on the field, sure acknowledge their age, physical limitations and inexperience, but don't limit the reason/blame for our performances to only these things, which is the impression I'm getting from Bolton's pressers (I may be way off course here ... just a guy with an uniformed opinion).

I would just like to think our coaches/trainers are constantly taking responsibility and evaluating their own performances in the overall scheme of things, and that are open minded and flexible about changing their methods, techniques and game plans for the players they coach/train.

I can see what m182 is saying, there does not seem to be a lot of tolerance for anyone with concerns re how the club is travelling.

I am sick of hearing from our coach that we have improved our talent by going to the draft. This is insulting to recent past players who actually won games. It is also a blatant lie. We have been to the draft and picked kids with potential. Whether that potential turns into talent at afl level is the question.

At the moment a lot of our kids with potential haven’t got the talent to succeed at the afl level. Time is running out.
football is full of 16 to 18 year old superstars but couldn’t make it afl level.

because most people believe it's an overreaction, most people seem to understand the rebuild and are supportive of it. the criticsm and whingeing for most people seems out of touch with reality and the actual facts.

everyone is entitled to their opinions but if people disagree expect them to say so.

That is confusing to me. Potential and talent can be closely related. It's when it becomes experience and performance then it's time to judge

The fundamental question that, unsurprisingly, never really gets answered.
The most common typical response being: 'we shouldn't have traded every forward we had.' :p

How about not **** up every draft for the 6-8 years before that?

Bottom line is whingeing and complaints are all outside BS.

Club is happy with direction and will be sticking with it. Kids are developing well and it's a happy group. Bolton doing a great job.

42 List changes in less than 2 and half years. Injury list has been a bigger issue this year than expected.

This year will bring in some more young talent and some top level senior bodies. 2018 was always going to be the toughest as list is at its youngest.

If anyone doubts this (or seems to have a short term memory) go and listen to Judds explanation on FC 2 weeks ago then Boltons interview just after. He's on the board and personally I'm glad he is.
Don't agree with the above. Can't keep losing games, creates losing culture.

Over what period? Two weeks, a month, a year or 5? Hawthorn won the same amount of games under Clarkson as Bolton has had in charge. Everyone wanted his head.

Seemed to work out okay

PS We've been crap for 20 years. New kids, new coach, new culture, new direction. It will all be fine, this is but just a small moment in time . ;)

Absolutely nothing wrong with being critical, it's important.

I can see how there appears to be a groupthink mentality here and maybe there is to a certain extent, but the consensus opinion is largely grounded in an acceptance of fundamental facts.

We are tired of dismissing the same old arguments that are easily debunked.

If your criticism is based in fact and not emotion, then there's no reason it shouldn't be considered. I'll back an argument as long as it's grounded in reality and has historical accuracy.
