Was my favourite Saint during our dominant years of 04-10.
Loved his passion and hunger for the contest.
Left on not so great terms but will be remembered as a great of our club.

Congratulations on a fantastic career, BJ!

I loved Dal Santo & Milne...was in awe of Lenny, and Roo...but I RESPECTED Goddard. Loved his no nonsense drive and commitment. Hope he comes back in some capacity. Think he'd be good for the boys. May need a year or two out though, just to chill out a tad.

I'm sure I read that the drug cheats are giving him life membership. Didn't he play more games at the Saints?

Apparently he doesn't actually qualify for life membership over there but because he was their poster boy and mouthpiece in the media for a couple of yrs while everybody else at the club was busy shredding documents they gave him a special life membership as a way of saying thanks .

Even though he was a big boy and made his decision to leave I always felt sorry for him a bit.
Got blindsided by that grubby club and wasted some good yrs of his career .
Should've taken the GWS offer instead.

    Just curious.
Since BJ played more games for us than Lockett.
Do you consider Plugger a past Saint or just a Syd player?

Left everything on the field for us in those grand finals. Can't ask much more than that. Will always be a saint to me. Hope he succeeds in the future!!

Bloke damn near won us a flag!

Was sad and angry that he left but in hindsight there was a lot more going wrong at our club than we realised at the time.

Took it for granted how good of side we had during the 04-10 period.
BJ being a massive part of that side too, how eerily close he came to really cementing himself as Premiership hero of the club too.
    Big cheers to the legend!
Thanks for all the great years of football

What a typically cheesy suckhole thing to do by Essendope!
Smacks of a desperate club, trying to remain relevant.
    God I hate those pricks!

Best of luck with the future BJ....Thanks for the fine
Service you gave to the Saints!

I always think of any player who played for the Saints at some point as a Saints player lol, well I am biased of course. Plugger, BJ, Dal Santo, Barry Hall, Ian Stewart etc will always be Saints players first as far as I am concerned.

From all reports, St Kilda would have to actively try to make BJ send any potential father/son selections to the Dopers.

You are welcome to damn him, I merely stated an opinion. If you feel a "bit of extra money" is justification for a lack of loyalty, more power to you.

You do realise our salary cap was at a critical point and sacrifices were made for the good of the club? Survival if you will? Was is Dal straight back working for the club? Why will BJ be back with us next year?

Simple, shallow thoughts and comments. Do some research - ask some questions and if it’s still the same answer, the club will never please you.
