Id doubt they would get rid of Cox. In my opinion he is one of the best 2nd rucks going around. I also dont reckon they would want Doughty considering their considerable midfield strength (Cousins, Kerr, Braun, Chick, Fletcher, Humm, Jones, Morrison, Munro, Read, Wooden).

Id say they would be looking for key defenders.

Doughty for Cox would be a steal.

macca23 - Cox is not yet 22. I fail to see how that is too old. Ruckmen take a while to develop. If we drafted a 17 year old we'd probably be waiting til he's 22 before he's ready to hold down a permanent spot in the side!

So Judd won't be playing for West Coast next year? :D

Fair comment. I've obviously sold him short going by yours and Macca19's comments. In fact Macca said that he rates him as one of the best 2nd rucks going around. your comment about the age is relevant too as I did think he was older.

In that case I would trade Doughty for Cox, but as Macca pointed out midfielders is barely what they will be chasing and we don't have any KPP's spare.

 I cant recall him missing a game thru injury since his comeback game in the Ansett cup in 2002. Missed a couple with form, but none thru injury....so your comment is a strange one, considering Fitzgerald couldnt go 3 weeks without doing something.

I wouldnt think the Crows would want him all taht badly. Altho the Lade to the Crows rumour has been around since before his first knee injury so maybe its just digging up and dusting off an old rumour.

Bizarre in a sense I suppose.

Port have not taken a gamble on him as he was already on their list. Playing him and him not suffering a further injury is great for Port and gives him some market value.

But you'd have to admit that anyone who picks him up via trade is taking some level of gamble on his long term fitness. Perhaps the "injury prone" tag is a bit harsh, but if the shoe fits...

Just regarding Lade's injuries they have both been 'Impact' injuries. Both were the result of the leg being in the wrong spot at the wrong time. Any other player would have suffered the same result.

The 2nd break was pure and simply coincidental that it was 2 inches below the previous break and medicos stated it would been the same result even if it was his other leg.

So both injuries were purely unlucky and are not typical repeat injuries like Soft Tissue injuries or Joint Injuries (Knees, Shoulders or Ankles)

I am happy for Port to keep Lade as he is not as old as people say (26) for a ruckman and will be in his prime during the next 5 years of his career. He is re-establishing himself as a ruckman, he is dangerous up forward (with a long accurate kick), and he can play the 'kick behind the play' role very well.

Nope I am very happy to keep him and and to compare him to Marsh is insane.

Not in a reality where I'm exactly as useful to Port as Michael Voss is.

But you are. You'd be prepared to do something for Port but couldn't deliver and Voss could do something for Port but wouldn't be prepared to.

Net result. You're exactly as useful to Port as Michael Voss is!!! ;)
