Quick question, how is his development comming along, seen hes playing VFL reserves, any chance of playing VFL seniors, or even an AFL game next year?

He has played some senior games for Werribee but his injury slowed his progress. He will probably get a senior game for the Dogs next season

yeah, knew him though basketball, ankle was pretty average wasnt it?

I was very impressed with Stacky when i saw him play in the ressies v Frankston about a month ago.

Really backed himself, seemed to play with confidence, more of a burst midiflelder and has a bigger build than Lynch, Hill & Harbrow.

With an un-interupted pre season, he will definatly play games next season.

Didn't he have the ball on a string that day?
He ran hard all day and pretty much played in the pivot.

I have actually heard that Rocket thinks he's the most exciting from the draftee's last season.

Was really the first time i'd seen him play, and yeah, liked what i saw, mainly because of his confidence, and style of game he plays, i can just see him one day being that midfield type that just bursts through packs, similar i guess to Mark West, but the way he ran around opponents, very special.

Stack probably is a Mark West type (without the vigor but a tonne more finesse and skill)

It really was a terrific effort that day. The defensive side of his game needs a lot of work though.

I am interested to know what people think of Stack.

He has been on the list for 3-4 years now and has only managed 4 games. Last night he played ok and kicked a very nice goal but still looks a long way off if you ask me.

Not sure about where he is at.

I think he a quality about him that is waiting to just explode .... but we havent quite seen it yet.

He is probably a bit like Josh Hill and has this unique talent that excites but fails to impress at other times.

He goes missing for very long periods. Sure he does some great things at times but it's not enough. He's lazy and I'd be surprised if he's on the list next year.

looks like a bit of a rabbit in the headlights. mentally I don't think he's ready. some of his efforts last night we average.

that what i was trying to tell cosmicr, i dont want to bag stack but he would not be in our best 35 players, moles in the rain would have been the right choice.

Stack started all right last night and had an early goal (could have had two except for a fumble) but he didn't feature so much in the second half.

I won't write him off but for now I don't think he's done enough to hold his place. Would rather see Wood or Moles given a shot next week if Johnno isn't ready.

Eade may not see it that way - has said recently he likes to give the young players at least a couple of weeks when promoted to the AFL. I can understand the thinking but it's an important game against Sydney and we need our best available 22 on the park.

He's an interesting one. Like Hill he does tend to go missing, but I feel he often looks dangerous. I think his biggest issue is completing the play at the moment. It seems it is difficult for him to do all 3 of getting the ball, not getting tackled/bumped/dropping the ball and disposing of the ball effectviely. He seems to be able to do at least one really well, but then screw it up seconds later with one of the remaining two.

The guy is an introvert and does not believe in himself. He has the talent but mentally is not up to it. We have to many of this type in the team. We need go getters not these types. Give me a Picken type any day over these talented mentally not up to it spuds who go missing in important games.

Whilst Stack didn't have a huge impact on the game on Friday night, he did turn in a few pieces of play which looked very good. He's certainly got the attributes to be successful at AFL level, and I hope he is able to string together a few runs of matchs at AFL level to build his confidence and composure.

Potentially he is just the sort of player we need, and I think it looks fairly close to clicking for him. He's not going to be a 25+ possession winner, but if he can contribute goals and 15-20 classy touches a game with some solid defensive work, I think he can be a viable option going forward.

Summed up pretty well:thumbsu:

How much has Stack bulked up!
Boy into a man.
Glad we are getting games into him this year. With Akermanis, Eagle and Johnson to retire at the end of the year, he'll be even better next year.
Got some class.

:thumbsu: I reckon he is showing great skill already and he is fast! The young players are doing just fine. Great promise for the club!

I liked it when he nearly won a contest against 4 or 5 North players in the last quarter :thumbsu:

Nevertheless, he will probably be out of the side before long when players return from injury.
