Some of us need to realsie that we just can't grab whoever we want in the PSD. Especially with Carlton (who I think will end up with him) and Essendon interested in him I find it hard to beleive he's coming our way. One of my favorite players (love the one handed pick ups) but for what Brisbane will be asking for and what other clubs will be offering I'd rather not go there and target Knights.

I think that's why most of us are saying unless he comes to us via PSD then we don't want him, because we know how unlikley it is that it will happen.

Would love it if we got him by paying unders....but I just don't think that would happen...why would he want to come here anyway???

Why wouldnt he:confused:

Richmond would be a very attractive prospect at the moment for a lot of players wanting to move. All this rubbish about players only wanting to go to clubs on the verge of a flag is such hog wash. Obviously thats the ultimate goal, but recent high profile movers in Judd, Hall and Bradshaw puts an end to that theory. Rischatelli, Brown and maybe Ablett are not going to the Suns for a flag but a bucket of cash.

We are very stable both on and off the field, fantastic coach and coaching staff, A1 facilities, a core of young guns including a Colman medalist, supporter base second to none. Everything about us at the moment points to exciting times and success. If any one gun couldnt get to Collingwood or the Cats, then why not us.

I agree.
Not to mention the way the club handled the whole Ben Cousins tenure. We came out of that looking incredibly professional.

he is either very good or very bad,but most of the time average but on very high $$$

we need noses to the ground hard working never say die types not flashy show pnies that are erratic on huge salaries.

NO from me.

Id look at

Schuey Salopek Smith Vezspremmi and Chris Knights

Before id consider Brennan for big $$$

im writing two letters in regards to possibly recruiting brennan

Btw. You don't put players up for trade you signed a new contract with a couple months ago, i.e. Highly doubtful McGuane is going anywhere so don't bother offering him up

Three letters Y.E.S. As much as i believe we have found Delidios spot on the HBL, maybe we could replace lids on the HBL with Brennan, and move Lids onto the aggot, or vice versa, put Brennan on the ball, and leave lids where he is. It could definately work.

Unless he is coming PSD i can't see how we will be getting him. He's 26 so you wouldn't want to be giving a high draft pick 1st or 2nd round for a player who might only give you 5 years service. Also if we are trading a player i would prefer we only move on someone over 24, but who would they want that we would want to get rid of ???

...love it as an membership ad for the RFC...

...makes more sense that the carltankers...

...they know we are fumbling, er coming....:D...

A bit old for our growing cubs.

Not trying to single you out Smasha (and I know you said in the PSD would be ok), but I question the belief on this forum that a young list cannot and should not draft someone over a certain age. It really makes no sense to me.

Is there some sort of rule that says a young team will go belly up if a 27-year old is drafted by them? Has this rule been tested and found to be true?

I don't buy the logic that he will take another kids spot because people are not arguing against drafting, they are arguing against drafting someone of a certain age. Why?

No rule. Just common sense. Why go trading for 26/27 year old's when you're rebuilding? By the time you're up and about and challenging for a flag they will be 30+ and past it or have limited time left. Common sense.

Is there any proof that this 'common sense' has actually worked?

Now look before anyone gets bent out of shape, I will say it again, I am not advocating going back to the Frawley days where we sold off our future.

I am saying that if the price is right (low) then why not?

Because for a change the club may be interested in developing a team to win a premiership.

This is the core strategy, ask the players, players play to win a premiership, older players outside a realistic window deflate/demotivate teams as everyone including the recruiting are not on the same page with the same team goal that can be measured with genuine progress and benefit as the goals set are realistic and attainable.

Look at Brisbane. They won't win premiership for at least 15 years and who knows, they may fold!!!

in one of the fev threads someone says their dad works at the club, and that the word around the club is that brennan is coming here.

obviously not a particularly solid rumor but what do people reckon? personally i dont really want a flashy but very inconsistent and sometimes lazy bloke for the price he would command.

you will now see my "rumor" was good, Brennan wants out. His preferred destination is Tigers and they are talking.
