As a Saints supporter, I'm rapted that we were able to get Guerra. What is his best position?? What sort of player is he??

Thanks mate. Guerra will surely get more game time with us. We needed a strong small defender who can run and kick the ball a long way. Sounds like Guerra is perfect for the job. I've only seen him play a few times on TV and he looked really good. I was very surprised that we got him for pick 39. When I saw he was for trade I was thinking more along the lines of pick 23. Toughness is something we have lacked in defence for some time so hopefully he'll go along way toward fixing that.

If Guerra can improve on his ball getting ability, ie become involved in the play more than he has at times, he could be anything. That will probably come with gametime, something he hasn't had enough of at Port.
He was always going to be a bargain, but third round was a steal.
We wish him all the best .

Maybe your mob were a bit ****y with how the Brooks deal turned out and wanted a bit back, or something.
How it turned out?

He was coming along very nicely last season, culminating in some dominating performances for Springvale before doing his knee against Tasmania. He started off the season in the seniors and struggled a little but went back to the VFL and really started to hit his straps. From all reports his rehabilitation is going well and should be back for round one. I can guarantee you he is held in very high regard at the club. Our lack of ruckman will see to it that he'll play regular footy next season and after 9 months on the sidelines will hopefully have added a bit of bulk to his skinny frame.

I'm rapt to get Guerra as well. He seems like the ideal replacement for Steve Lawrence, playing as a small, aggressive back pocket/half back flank player. After reading the other thread it seems a few of your supporters thought he would be worth a bit more than a 3rd round pick. In your clubs defence the deal was done quite late. We had already traded away our 2nd round pick so it was either #8, #39 or nothing.

If he can make the same impact as Murray in his first season we'll be very happy. Along with Brooks, Guerra and Murray, the forgotten man this season has been Jordan Barham who has thrived for Springvale since being turned into a key defender. He was added onto our senior list during the season so must have been close to selection. Still a long term prospect.

On the other side of the equation, the one player we've given you guys, Darryl Wakelin, has been excellent since crossing over.

I wasn't meaning that Brooks is bad, but that because we got Salopek with the pick you traded us, the Saints might be a bit peeved in retrospect.

In any case, damn you Matt Rendell!

Wakelin has been OK but I would always have preferred Hamill.

Yeah at the moment it looks like you guys killed us in that trade. Young Brooks will have to show a bit this season. He did look very athletic, but sometimes looked lost out on the field when in the ones. In the twos he looked impressive, doesn't mind taking the big mark. Very Quick for a big guy. Salopek on the other hand will be a gun. No question, he will be a star. Didn't we also give you guys a second or third round pick aswell??
