I was counting his touches in the last hoping he would get to 40. He has got 40 at least once in a game before (I remember him getting 41 against the saints).

Why oh why did the Doggies play Picken against Davey in the first and Jetta in the second? Stanton is the ideal player to tag. If tagged you can stop him.

Seeing that Barry Hall is retiring, I reckon they should have told him to have one last whack - on Stanton.

But honestly, all players who have a lot of possessions will make clangers. I remember when I was working in Cyprus, and old Works Supervisor said to me:"He who makes no mistakes, does no work". How true, and Stants's work rate was just awesome.

His previous highest was 36 twice, against in St Kilda 2010 and Hawthorn in 2009.
