Yeah mate, I've learnt to just not bother with Essendon topics on the Main and Polls boards; they only make you angry.

The tipping point for me was earlier in the year when all and sundry were telling me that Stanton couldn't get a spot in Richmond's side ahead of Foley, Houli, Jackson, Grigg and Conca.

They're ****ing idiots that evidently don't understand football, so don't bother.

Stanton is one of the few players on our list who is a A-grader bordering on elite. Hopefully next year he takes it up another notch like he has this year and enters almost elite category.

They already kick the shit out of Essendon as a passtime - a good approach would be to not open further avenues for the flog patrol.

Have a look at the thread on the main board. (Yes its mine). Its hard to comprehend the number of idiots that post on this site.
1. Stanton isn't in Fremantle's best 22
2. Issac Smith is a better player than Stanton
3. Stanton has been a plodder his entire career until this season
4. Stanton is inconsistent and has only had one decent season to date.
5. Stanton wouldn't be in Brisbane's top 7.
6. He is crap because he got booed by his supporters.
7. Vickery is a better player than him at this very moment.
8. Carrazzo is a better player.
9. Stokes is ahead of Stanton.

Not directly related to Stanton, but in that thread Gordon Gecko also claimed a sign of Essendon's mediocrity (a Freo supporter sitting in judgement on any other team's mediocrity, irony at its best BTW) was that Zaharakis and Stanton had finished 1 and 2 in the B&F, when in his opinion those two "should be rounding out the top ten at best".

Almost certainly the biggest load of rubbish I've yet read here since joining.

Obviously I'm still pretty new here, but after reading through, and participating, in main board Stanton thread, I would really implore Essendon posters not to ever bother starting such a thread on the main board. It really does just bring out the trolls, and some of the stuff you read is enough to sh1t the most patient of people to tears.

Don't get me wrong, matty_lloyd_the_champ, I'm certainly not having a go at you, but honestly, as Lord Nicholson said, the main board becomes little more than a glorified Bay 13 where discussions about anything related to Essendon is concerned.
