I think some clubs are using 8 picks outside the first round. If the draft as this thread is saying then that's a whole lot of rubbish coming in.

Yeah, no shit. We've got two picks in the top 60. We don't rate this draft as most clubs and draft watchers don't. Get ready to be disappointed.
Literally nobody is saying that. The top 30 to 35 are ok after that it drops away fast, thats why the Eagles traded for multiple top 35 picks.
What did Norths trade in to keep their rebuild on track?
Now that is the definition of dissappointment!

Absolutely!!! Not worth pick 21I get your annoyance with the Ryan pick, but would you risk losing Kelly to the Roos at 23?
I take it you didn't understand my second sentence. He writes for afl.com.au if there were 35 good prospects in this draft he'd say there were 50 good prospects.
Yeah our recent drafting has been average.
I just thinking reaching for Kelly and Ryan isn't smart. I think we should take the punt that Kelly and Ryan will be there at 26 and 37 at the least.
I fail to see how Ryan has gone from worse than Gorter to pick 26. I doubt any poster on here would be happy if their club used 26 on Ryan.

Bullshit. I'll make a bet with you that none of them will.Charlie Spargo at 23, Patrick Naish at 27, Connor Ballenden at 32... having an absolute laugh, all will go top 20.

Wow. I want in on this! You reckon 1 will go outside of top 20?
I'll consider taking that bet, depends what is on the line?

There’s no logical basis for Spargo being taken inside 20.....yet I reckon he is the most likely of those 3 to go early
Well there is.
He was considered a potential #1 pick at the U/16’s level, was rated as highly as Cerra and Stephenson.
Injury has ruined his last 2 years, being out of the TAC Cup spotlight when he could of played as a 16 year old has added to that. He also hasn’t grown since back then.
The talent is still there, definitely enough to go in the top 25.

I want in on this as well.Bullshit. I'll make a bet with you that none of them will.
One thing for sure is that we will find out who has the biggest say with recruiting. IMO the coach has to back his recruiting team to get it right,What's the weird part?
I imagine both Brisbane and Freemantle would have to look deeper than just pure talent when assessing possible draftees. I'm sure there has been articles written about this in the last couple of weeks.
Both Conole (Brisbane's head recruiter) and Fagan have publicly said it's down to two. With those two being Rayner and Brayshaw.
Fagan and Noble are said be in favour of drafting Brayshaw, while it's believed the recruiting team favour Rayner. No idea where Brisbane's list manager Dom Ambrogio stands.
What will be interesting from a Brisbane perspective is who wins the tug of war.
These are the posts on the Lions board that has driven much of the discussion since.
October 26th.
October 29th.
We can have some very animated discussions on the Brisbane board at times, particularly in regards to inside information, sources and rumours. This wasn't one of the those times. Other posters on the Brisbane board have said Len S's information is usually spot on.
West AdelaideWhy has Balta dropped ? .....makes no sense & surely won't happen Draft NightBalta at 42, wow. Is he a bigfooty special?
I did. I was just expanding on it. Sorry if I sounded patronising.I take it you didn't understand my second sentence.
West AdelaideYes that made no logical sense to me eitherI reckon it’s really weird.
e.g. Rayner (or Brayshaw) for #1, LDU (or Brayshaw) for #2, then Carlton and North pass on Brayshaw and he gets taken at #5.
Very strange.
