Deledio is widely acknowledged by critics and the media as an A-Grader who hasn't quite reached his full potential. Countless times I have heard commentators etc say he doesn't seem to take games by the scruff of the neck.

With the development of Batchelor who works very well defensively but has an attacking flair, Houli & Newman providing run off half back and Cotchin & Martin taking more and more of the opposition's time, could 2012 be the year that Lids starts to really impose himself on the game and use his weapons to their maximum potential?

We certainly don't have the midfield depth of the Saints circa 2009 but it's improving.
would love to see lids playing forward, maybe like swan of the pies who plays everywhere but ALWAYS dobs a few cause he runs hard like a maniac then sneaks forward to catch the opposition out or runs to the bench then normally will come back a minute later after the ball goes out in his forward 50 to hit the thro in like a steamtrain.

I think he should go mid/fwd next year as his damage on the scoreboard alone will be huge. I am still a big believer in the fact that if we have Cotch, Martin and Lids all playing onball Deledio will end up being the best of the lot.

My only concern and I haven't heard much about it is that....HE HASN'T EXTENDED HIS CONTRACT PAST 2012.

Would love to hear early next year he signed a 3 yr exstension.

Roaming HFF is where he played predominantly as a junior, and he was the best kid in the country. That's where I want to see him play next year. Wing/HFF.

My equal favourite tiger along with Foley. Hope we have a good year so Lids will happily re-sign. Im sure we will keep the funds ready for rival offers to match. Im confident he will be a tiger 4 lyfe yo..lol

love him! he only has to do basics in his position, so when he does get the ball on the run and take 4-8 bounces it's mind blowing and exciting

Why is this a concern? Not many players renew their contract with 12 months left to run. It happens, but not that frequently, if he hasn't renewed by mid-season then perhaps it will raise an eyebrow, but he'll hardly be going elsewhere for more money, he will make plenty at Richmond.

The stuff I read on Deledio on forums always gives me a chuckle or two

apparently he is definitely going to Carlton, because he barracked for them as a kid

also this being said, he goes missing all the time and only racks up possies when the heat of the game is over, although the same people also think every recruiting decision has to somehow "release Lids to the midfield!!"

my personal favourite though is that he apparently he has a bad attitude at the club because he wore a beanie during one of the videos the club had on their website

Love Deledio as a player, and he has provided us with a massive amount of skill and composure when delivering the ball out of our backline.

Don't really see GWS as a threat, sure they could offer probably 50% more than what he earns here but if he does go then he'll be back at square one. In a shit team with no foreseeable success for the next few years.

Can't wait to see lids next year. Now that he's got some quality players and support around him I feel the shackles will be unleashed. Confident he will go to a new level over the next few years.

Your time to shine has arrived lids. Do your thing!!!:thumbsu:

Is it just me or are they trying to recruit back flanks so he never has to go back there? You'd like to see him wing, occasionally on-ball, and pushing forward. Needs to realise he's going to out-match most guys physically, and use it.

Lids will never leave, he loves the club, you can tell from his interviews/videos on Roar Vision etc.

It looks like he really feels like a Tiger now, I cannot see him going anywhere else.

This is quite astute!

Deledio although very good already, probably does not realise how elite he really could be!
Is virtually never beaten when he is fully switched on.

IMO the most purely talented player we have...
