Re: End of 2011 list management
One year offer surely the only option that makes any sense, in effect we'd be "timing" a draft pick to use or on-trade for 2012 (if I understand the draft right, a 1st year draftee gets 2 years). Keeping him as an added attraction for the potential "other Ebert" trade, yes that would be cringeworthy. Sort of thing I associate with Choco, rightly or wrongly.
Look Ebo has no trade value this year after missing most of the pre season recovering from the knee injury. If he goes OK next year then he's in a similar spot to Daniel Motlop and dare I say it Chad this year - reclaims his standing in the football world after a tough few years but, hey, it's time for someone else. And if he did go somewhere as a small forward age 29 after next year, there's even less chance of it biting us in the bum.
Lurk3r it's very easy for someone to seem disrespectful to a player in a one line response even if it was meant like "it's not personal, it's just business". For example, your comment on Trengove. Pretty much indefensible. Porthos at least backed up his initial reaction to the Ebo news (not that I agree with him either here).
Now that I've started an argument with everyone, it's time to get back to work...
