Settle down guys Brett's a good freo boy and a loyal Lyon acolyte. Clearly been sent out by the Boss to hose down expectation on Fyfe so that he doesn't get punched in the face again by teams who fear the beast and to put the pressure back on Sydney and Hawthorn for the flag. :D

And this is the reality check folks I would believe this over anything in the West anyday. Our only F/S pick and played some very good footy in the right role. Was very important for the Sharks as well when he came back to the WAFL. Has my respect.
 
Came in here, read two posts and realised I don't give a shit what Brett Peake thinks.
 
Well, Fyfe is the best player in the comp atm (as far as this can be said with any certainty). Still the media is going a bit over the top with it.

On Priddis: Think he will finish pretty high again for sure with the Eagles winning more games. Would be surpirsed when he comes second to Fyfe. Most other top team have a more even spread in votes I'd say.

Who cares what anybody says at the end of the day the only way we will ever have any respect in the footy world is win a flag.
As for Fyfe we will know if he is overrated or not on Brownlow night.
Everything else is speculation.

The Brownlow is a great award but I would be more concerned about the coaches & ALFPA MVP, the Brownlow makes Fyfe more marketable but plenty of surprise results have won the Brownlow over the years, Cooney, Priddis & Woewodin. If you win every award available but not the Brownlow, do you think the umps got it wrong or the coaches, players, media & anyone else that votes ?

In 2006? That was his best year by miles. Actually looked like he could be a reasonable player for Freo then. Never reached those heights again.

Yeah that's true. He was the textbook front runner - good player in a good side. He picked up 10 brownlow votes in 2006, and only 2 in the rest of his career. But that's better than most that get to the AFL.

Be interesting bloke to have a chat with actually. 2006 was only his 2nd year, and he'd only played 9 games before then. There wouldn't be many players that got double figure brownlow votes in their 2nd year.
